New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2
Ok, thanks.  What are your other speakers?  Sounds like you have quite a collection.(I had 7 pairs of speakers not long ago, but I've been cutting down).

riaa_award_collectors_on_facebookSo do you actually disagree with the point that bigger and more expensive doesn't mean "better?"Like celo, I've heard $100,000 speakers that I would never take over my Joseph Perspectives (or my Thiel 2.7s).   Sure...

^^^ Well...that was snippy!celo’s point is not unreasonable. Many audiophiles, myself included, have listened to various speakers within a company's line, and have found that certain designs hit a sweet spot to our ears. In other words, I may find ...
Blind or Just Deaf?
I don't insist on blind testing all my equipment, but I understand their use and sometimes employ blind testing when I feel like it.Blind testing for me helped verify the sonic differences I thought I was hearing between some CD players and DACs s...
Audio Note AN/E vs. DeVore O/96
Excellent "review" fsonicsmith!   Thanks!  Having heard the D7s and O/93s they certainly are very different sounding speakers.
Audio Note AN/E vs. DeVore O/96
@essrand How long have you owned the O/96 speakers and how do you like them?
Audio Note AN/E vs. DeVore O/96
I would LOVE to hear the latest Spendor Classic 100!I own the Spendor S3/5s, the little guys, and they make me swoon over how beautiful they sound, so I was curious about a bigger classic version.  (I used to hear the BC1 regularly, but it's been ...
Audio Note AN/E vs. DeVore O/96
fsonicsmith,Please let me know how it goes when you put the Devores back in the system.  I wonder if you will welcome them with open arms, or perhaps be less forgiving of their lack of soundstaging prowess. One of the things I like about the Josep...
Tekton Brisance
I chalk it up to the typical audiophile and his inability to understand anything, especially anything not being mindlessly repeated ad nauseum by other audiophiles. Millercarbon, do you ever get tired of being "holier-than-thou"?It must be quite a...
Audio Note AN/E vs. DeVore O/96
@fsconicsmithI was also entranced by some small Audio Note speakers at the last Toronto Audio show. With some acapella vocals, a track with sax, another with drums, the combination of body, clarity and believable organic timbral warmth was just ou...
Tekton Brisance
Sorry to have outraged you twoleftears ;-)There are some companies who release new models very rarely, very carefully refining and refining, making sure they really made an advance, before releasing new models.  Which makes for a modest number of ...
Tekton Brisance
Is there any speaker company pumping out as many models as Tekton?Dunno if that's a good or a bad sign.
Magico Mini 2
However, to my ears, they sounded too controlled to let music really flow (a consistent magico issue IMO), and despite being driven by serious amplification, sounded almost underpowered. That's been my take-away impression of Magico speakers too...
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2
IMO, if people cannot describe their “feeling” when they listen, there is close to zero value to their input. Personally, I have no use for people describing their "feelings" when describing audio gear.   If they can relay how it sounds, that's he...
