Wilson's Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker over 3/4 of a million US dollars Not that I’m defending the price of these Wilson speakers...but...Whoever said, "There is a sucker born every minute" was so right.Hilarious! Why? You could BUY most orchestras for that same $ and hear the actual MUSIC as opposed to listening to it...
Does raising speaker cables off the floor really make a big difference? millercarbon,Have you ever tried anything from Geoff's Machina Dynamics website?
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2 pops,The CS6 was one of my favorite all time speakers (I had them for a while, long ago). I’m still a Thiel guy. I don’t see getting rid of my 2.7s any time soon.I love having the Joseph speakers too, though.Obviously no speaker is perfect and I c...
Thiel Owners I am still listening to my 2.7s, the Joseph speakers (which I love) being momentarily being given a break. I've had the Thiels in for 2 or 3 weeks and they are just so good I can't help leaving them in the system and rockin' out!
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2 @radiohead99Great user report. And wow, nice speaker list of the ones you let go. I'm curious what you'd have to say about the PAP Horn1 speakers. They seem very different from the Josephs.I agree on your assessment of the Joseph sound. It's so...
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2 celo,I kept writing the same thing over and over again making myself think if I really got paid by Jeff to write:) Ha, I've had the same feeling as I've written so much about the JA speakers for quite a while here, and elsewhere.I think if he pai...
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2 emailists,Correct. I do sound design (not a mixer - editor) for film/tv, so yes was referencing room tones and air tracks. I'm often either mixing and matching room tones I provide, or matching the room tone audible in between the dialogue in th...
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2 erik,Yeah, we went through that in this thread :-)
New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2 Not liking the Perspective2 is like not liking Amish butter on top of freshly baked sourdough bread. Funny enough, I just came immediately from watching a youtube "foodporn" fine dining video with someone eating bread/butter just like that and I ...
The best tweeter is no tweeter To me the vast majority of speakers sound like a compilation of drivers, and artificial in that way. An exception has been my Thiel 3.7 and 2.7 speakers. They are as perfectly coherent as I’ve ever heard in the mids and highs. There is zero sens...
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium I auditioned the Paradigm Persona speakers twice, in two locations, and though I found some aspects impressive, each time I found myself getting fatigued from the character of the highs. Not surprising given the rise around 1K in the Stereophile ...
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium Thanks, very interesting!
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium smodtactical,I'd enjoy reading a bit more detail on your auditions, impressions of the Joseph speakers and what grabbed you about the Yamahas. I've heard the Yamaha speakers at shows and they were certainly attention grabbing!
Harbeth 40.2 40th Anniversary with Simaudio mono blocks Hi again art.As a fellow audiophile with long experience, I’ve come to some of my own conclusions. I have found the mantra "big speakers for big rooms/small speakers for small rooms" hasn’t necessarily been the case.Depends on the room, the speake...
Harbeth 40.2 40th Anniversary with Simaudio mono blocks Fair enough. In my case I auditioned the O/96s numerous times, in two different stores, and I came away really loving them, both with tube and solid state amplification. (No Shindo or anything - as I remember: Nagra, Pass, Leben).I auditioned a h... |
