All New Joseph Audio Profile Loudspeakers // The Affordable Reference !
havoc,Having heard the Monitor Audio platinum speakers, I'd have to disagree with your assessment.   For me the Monitor Audio Platinum series, while very vivid sounding, sound bleached and artificial for lots of content.  (Though put just the righ...
Who's using Harbeth with tubes, what speaker model and how many watts per channel?
I had the Harbeth SuperHL5+ driven by Conrad Johnson Premier 12 amps and CJ Premier 16LS2 pre-amp.Gorgeous sound.   Rich and organic, but controlled and punchy from top to bottom.

sondeknzI have the famous Eico HF-81 integrated tube amp.  This review was part of what made the HF-81 so coveted (although it was already well regarded):https://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/606eico/index.htmlI had an SS amp fail on me at on...

I don't see many saying the Pulsars, 1 or 2, are the best speaker Joseph makes.  Best bang-for-buck perhaps.  But almost everyone who has heard both the Pulsars and Perspectives rate the Perspectives as a step up all around.  I've heard the Perspe...

Well I threw the Bryston amp in to the system and since I had the little Spendors already set up, listening to them last night using my Eico tube amp, I listened via the Spendors. The upshot is that initial listening indicates that I’m experiencing...

pops,I couldn't get the Thiel  out of my system, which is why I will not sell my Thiels :-)I can find speakers that do this or that thing that I like a bit better, but nothing is quite as even-handed as the Thiels.I wrote my impression of my brief...

The original Perspectives have tended to go for between $6,500 - $8,000 USD.I agree b_limo, I'm attracted to the beauty of the Perspectives as much as I am to the sound.  I generally dislike seeing speaker drivers, but the Seas drivers are an exce...

I'm now sitting at about 7 feet from the Perspectives, with the speakers almost 9 feet apart.   This gives a wide-screen level soundstage, where everything feels more life-sized, yet the Perspectives maintain great center fill, solidity and image ...

@donquichotteSorry, missed your post from a while back.I think I just didn’t get along with the Spendor D7 tweeter or something.Other people have had the same impressions I did when listening to that speaker. I would like very much to hear the D9....

The Profiles have been around for years.  I've often wondered how close they get to the Perspectives.I briefly considered the Profiles at one point, but held out to "go for the gold" with the Perspectives.

Glad you found amplification for your speakers Jafant. For audiophiles sometimes it's like a biblical journey. :-)

Cabling auditioning is next. Stay tuned. Not interested in whatever-the-cables, but they will at least get sound coming out of your speakers!I admit I find your situation baffling.  You've been advising others here for years about cables and equipm...
Are the loudness wars fake so record companies can destroy the music?
Never go full conspiritard.

Wait...After 4 years Jafant actually finally got an amp and is actually listening to his set up?   Could it be true? But, I checked the set up photos.   No cables going to the speakers. So, I guess not? What's the update Jafant?
Devore Fidelity Orangutan O/96
mquery,I was never able to get a lot of depth from the soundstage of the O/93 in auditions (even though they were well away from the back wall).  The "wall of sound" seems to be a fairly consistent take on that speaker (though I did find that the ...
