when I used Shindo amplifiers, I always had Altec speakers...model 19 or 604 in 620 enclosure......

according to your "flat" sound descriptions...you should go with Garrard or EMT TT's ...It will give you back all the drama and fun into the analog!

...are you sure about the Est German Telefunken's?They had factories just at Ulm and Berlin for the tubes....

I would go for the LaScala and tweek them with the help of the Klipsch chat group people....I used to run these with the Trend little wonder and the sound was perfect and very affordable....BUT after I moved to Altecs and now JBL.

krell and ML do not go well together. try either krell preamplifier with your kpe or switch to all ML system...do not mix any other components...
