Low SET versus High SET agree with Onemug. The best is to bi-,tri- amp and then you use the low power SET on top and the big p SET on the woofers. That said, I think the 2a3 or 45 is a magic, when used in no-crossover systems.
Why do Audiophiles feel the need... Good point! I always wondered about that...also I would like to hear from the designers not the dealers in the replies...
Over the top I second the REL sub suggestion...I have had the G's twice(?!) and the sub is a must if you want them as a main system speakers.
Tube amps that kick ass? did nobody said KR Kronzilla?
Why doesn't the Berlin Philharmonic record? I do not know, but they are signed elsewhere too..http://www.nt2099.com/J-ENT/news/europe/emi-classics-and-the-berliner-philharmoniker-renew-contract/
Speaker placement: Any difference for cd or vinyl? I had the same dilemma and decided to cater to vinyl source now...I set the speaker for the "analog" sound. If you have smaller room ,then you have to decide. There is just too big dynamic difference in vinyl versus analog to have both at one system.
phono preamp with volume? Jadis DPMC
Graham 2.2 vs. Fidelity Research FR64S agree with Dertonarm...also the FR would be the best match for the Lenco you have, but with something like Denon 103 or SPU cartridge. And it would be my first choice of arm for your table! I would run the Graham/Clavis as a second arm....Have fun!
5 must have classical recordings Dvorak, do not forget this guy!! ..and for starters with curious ears Stravinsky and Prokofiev is a must....have fun!
Any idea where to find Micro Seiki tonearm parts? also try these folks : http://www.my-micro.de/
Airtight vs My Sonic Lab ....and very fine gentleman indeed!I have listened to them on two occasions, not with the same system, so hard to do reasonable comparisons....but the MSL may be more "romantic" and the AT is more "precise"...
Has anyone heard 'Audio Replas' cables/gear? I use their pure quartz insulators...and also the power wallplate.Very good products.
positioning of a horn speaker try the long wall and further apart and play with toe-in until you have it. Every half of inch will be different....
