MIT bashed, not Transparent, why? Great question no money - I've never seen a product that some people hate so much. I'm not questioning the reasons, I'm sure in most cases they are legimate opinions. I for one have used MIT in several different systems. I even had pre network cab...
Any Thiel 3.6 Owners in SF Bay Area? I'm on the other coast but I would definitely be interested to know what works with your 3.6's and I would be happy to share also my experiences.
Thiel 2.3--bright or harsh ? I have Thiel 3.6's - they aren't bright in the least but I've got lots of ss power and warm tube amp (classe ca200 and cj pre). I've also got meridian digital which isn't in your face at all, very unfatiguing. They are the most tonally correct spe...
Speaker help please for $2000 US Hi Olga, consider Thiels, maybe 1.5's, or 2 2's since you don't need a lot of bass even though both these speakers have a very satisfying low end. The ultimate would be 3.6's, IMHO, the best speaker under 10K. I have found Thiels to have the most ...
Cables for Classe/SF Concerto? Hi Milo, I had the MIT 330's and upgraded to the 330 shotguns and the difference was significant. The sound seemed to really open up and the imaging improved alot, wider soundstage with more air. They are not cheap but you can find some at this si...
How about a soldering thread? To anyone or all with experience, how tough is it for a beginner. I'm thinking about terminating some 8TC with postmaster spades and silver solder comes in the kit. I don't have any equipment yet, recommend any? I don't want to turn this into a pa...
SF Power 1s with Thiel CS 2.3s Enuf Pwr? Mezmo, always glad to hear a happy audiophile but dude, never say never. I'm happy with the 8TC, I was listening last night and was brought to my knees on several occasions.
SF Power 1s with Thiel CS 2.3s Enuf Pwr? I can't really answer your question, I'm driving 3.6's with a Classe CA200 with no problem, they go plenty loud with great bass response. I would be leary of using a 55 watt tube amp unless you listen in smaller room and music that's not real dyna...
MIT Tube Cables and Solid State Amps? Hey Tubegroover I just bought Thiels and can't use my 750 biwire anymore - it's just too messy to try and double it up and I'm afraid something will come loose and short out something. That's happened to me in another lifetime with another set of ...
MIT Term 2 speaker cables...Am I nuts??? I just went back to Kimber 8TC from MIT 750 Series 3 on my Thiel 3.6's and the sound is great. I have a warm system though, CJ pre and Classe CA200 amp with MIT shotgun ic's. The MIT's were biwire and it was too messy to run as a single to the Thi...
MIT Tube Cables and Solid State Amps? Glad to hear it Tubegroover. I'm using 330 shotgun ic's and 750 series 3 with soon to be Thiel 3.6's. I'll have to check out the 770's. Good listening!
Help!My systems sound too bright Samaul, Brulee is right, put at least 100 more hours on the speaks, I would even say 150 before you do any critical listening. I'll bet you'll hear a big difference. Good luck.
New Speakers Hey Brulee, what's up - I'm hangin.
New Speakers I second the motion on Thiels.
MIT Tube Cables and Solid State Amps? Jim, thanks for the response, I agree about cables it is frustrating at times and if your not really in the change/upgrade cable mode a real pain in the ass. I'll tell you what got me back on MIT. I was using Tara Master ic's, pretty happy with em... |
