Best blues guitarist, Clapton or Green
Yeah, "Susie" done with John Lee Hooker is awesome off the Mr. Lucky CD!
Speakers: all-time favorite
Hey Mazort - do those Proacs rock - how do they handle blues and rock. I know they are outstanding on smaller material. I'm considering the 2.5's or 3.8's but haven't done any extensive listening yet.
too laid back, or deeper soundstage?
Wow, it's interesting that you get a laid back sound with the Audio Physic tempos - I just heard them yesterday with an all CJ system; half art pre, MF 2500 amp and a CJ cd player and I thought it sounded slightly forward and lean. I know that som...
Need a good inexpensive stereo pre!
Ricky - I would suggest a used Conrad Johnson PV10 - very warm, a great match for a bright system.
Power cords Essence -Synerg-Ensemble
I've got 2 SR masters on my front end and a BMI EEL from here at audiogon on my Classe 200, the BMI is far superior to the SR. The SR on the amp is definitely better than stock, especially on the bottom end, but a little slow. The BMI is excellent...
Is Classe CA-200 a good buy?
Absolutely - great amp, I have one and compared it to several others. Don't get caught up in model changes - it was a stereophile class B (if that means anything to you). Besides, according to an e-mail I received from Classe the specs are identic...
Ear Candy: Most startling recordings.
Bob Dylan "Time out of Mind" is good and strange - extremely closed mike vocals and lots of fuzz box and pedal guitars all over the soundstage. Fiona Apple's latest is weird too, alot of weird stuff - listen to that one in the dark!
Speakers: all-time worst
Actually Tubegroover I was mistaken in my post, I have not auditioned the Vandy 3A Sigs, I have auditioned I believe it was 2ci's, they were actually my brother's which he still has and mated with a Vandy sub and it is very good sound. They were g...
Small Dedicated Listening Room???
Jla, I had the same situation until recently, now my room is fairly large. I had good sound in the small room, what worked for me was damping first side wall reflections only. I found that a small room can go dead pretty quick so you have to be ca...

Khrys, try to contain yourself - I'll let you be the first to know.
Amp for B&W 802N ?
I don't know, that's a tough question. I really like my CA 200 and I've heard the 401 and it is excellent. How different from mine - I can't comment because I haven't heard it in my system. I think bridged or dual mono in 1 chassis is always bette...
Speakers: all-time worst
Tubegroover, you are certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect it but I must disagree with you as well. The SRS tl (trilaminate tweeter) was an upgrade from the original series, don't know whether you heard that one or not. The crossover wa...
Speakers with Rotel amp
I've heard this amp with Vandersteen 2ce's and it was a nice combo. Vandy's sound like the route you might want to take judging from the type of music you like - good midrange with this combo. good luck.
Best Cables For Thiel+Classe
MIT shotguns, or 750 plus series 3's. These are the latest version of the high end series from them and they are excellent. Although, I heard a new speaker cable from MIT yesterday called Magnum but they are pricey - about $2500 for a 10 ft pair I...
Amp for B&W 802N ?
Have you considered another Classe 200 and running mono's, I'm considering doing that myself. The 401 is an excellent amp however, either choice would be solid, a used 200 would be less expensive.
