Looking for a new integrated amp
I’ve heard the Sphinx many times (my friend owns it) and I own the bigger brother m6si.  In my opinion the m5si will drive the speakers better and the sound will be well rounded dynamic and detailed.  I went for the m6si for the extra power.  His ...
What's the best and/or favorite piece of equipment you've owned? And do you still own it?
Lots of interesting vintage equipment!  My favs are more modern but I remember as a kid my dad bought me a fisher component system for xmas that had a dual tape deck and turntable that kicked off my descent into the rabbit hole of high end audio. ...

What has been your costliest mistake in this hobby?
These are all great responses....and I mean great in a sense that I’m not alone in my frustration. Its always fun to hear all the great sound we aspire to, but also fun to hear the mishaps along the way and how we arrive to where we are today! Goo...
The Best Isolation/ Vibration Footers per component - what's your experience?
check out solid-tech feet of silence.  I have them under my TT because they were the only thing that solved an acoustic resonance problem that I was experiencing.  Very unique design.  It actually suspends the component and the feet absorb all the...

Is it all worth it?
Is it all worth it?  The short answer is yes.  It's the ritual we enjoy as well as the sound.  The digital as well. It's phenomenal. However the experience is completely different.
Turntable isolation platforms
hell of an idea.  thank you.  gonna go get some sand and sugar
Turntable isolation platforms
It's definitely acoustic feedback.  If I rest needle on record and turn up volume I get rumble.  I then had a friend apply pressure to rack and the rumble stopped.  I need to isolate TT better
Recommendations for a new integrated amp for Vandersteen 3a speakers
I've owned 2 of the integrateds you are looking at.  First was the Vincent.  I liked it but it had problems with the tubes.  German design, chinese build.  Sound was very pleasing.  Laid back presentation.  The music traveled to you it didn't atta...
Replacing components, Please weigh in!
Take a look at the musical fidelity m6si integrated and then look at the musical fidelity nu Vista vinyl phono pre.  I have these 2 components and I think I may be buried with them cuz I enjoy them that much. I say this cause the music u play is s...
What’s your vote for the most ridiculous, overpriced, and useless tweak?
I'll go the other direction....the best tweaks are a good glass of scotch, a poke of herbal essence and the wonderful cover of night.  System always sounds great under these conditions.
So just how much vinyl do YOU own?
I own a couple hundred records.  I jumped back to vinyl after buying CD's for 40 yrs.  What I've done is looked at my large CD collection and decided that on vinyl I would buy only the album's I truly loved.  So for me it's all killer not filler i...
