My first tube integrated: which one to get?
You may want to look at a raven audio Blackhawk as well.
Which Solid State amplifier would you recommend for my budget?
One more to add….musical fidelity m6si.  It’s 2 mono blocks on the same chassis.  I use it drive Martin Logan’s ethos.  It’s has plenty of juice and smooth as butter.
What Is Most Important?
thats simple- the sound!  otherwise whats the point to all of it, if not to reproduce the best sound?
What is the best 2 channel listening chair?
Whats all this favoritism towards chairs?  How 'bout a sofa, a couch, a loveseat, a daybed, a chaise all viable alternatives to the chair!  why is the chair favored so much?  - F*ck the chair!  PS- this is sarcasm for people who have lost their se...
Electric cars will ruin late night listening?
Here's a question for all you electric car owners out there- What do you do when there's a power outage?  Do you fire up your gas powered generator to charge your car or just wait it out?
Speaker positioning: why do audiophiles neglect this so much?
So beyond the basics that you mentioned what have you observed in room setups that are "NO NO's"  and what are things that people are ignoring in the set up?  What did Jim Smith say that are more advanced or overlooked in room setup? Just curious ...
Speaker system
Here is some practical advice- keyword a search in older forums and you should be able to cull some information together that may help you in what you're trying to do. Try something like "large room system"  "large room speakers" Your question ha...
Frequency Response
@onhwy61 the room size is 17.5X14  and the speaker is the muraudio SP1.  Once again haven't heard live but like the design.  Do I get a decoder ring and secret passcode?  I listen to a broad spectrum from rock/hard rock/pop/jazz and classical play...
Frequency Response
@rixthetrick - I am pondering speakers that go to 45Hz - I haven't heard them live yet but I like the design.  My current speakers go to 35Hz - so its just a thought.  As always in this hobby - you have opinions on both sides of the argument.  I h...
Let me end the Premp/Amplifier sound debate ...
Ironically - all of you are arguing over his argument.  I find this tiresome as well.  I think his point to his post was --- who gives a crap what you think--- buy what you think gives YOU the best sound.  I'm sure some obnoxious a-hole will come ...
Share albums where EVERY SINGLE song is good
Music is so subjective and perfect albums are very arguably not perfect. This is like a desert island disc list.  To my taste and liking I can suggest 3 that I don't think have been mentioned... REM- Document U2- War Replacements - Tim
Affordable vs. ultra expensive speakers - what's the difference?
The only way to answer this question is to listen to both in the same room in a blind test! If told what you’re listening to is the $50K speaker, the placebo effect kicks in - your mind not your ears tells you these have to sound better with zero ...
Share MYSTICAL, HAUNTING songs
2 from a great college band that had a smidge of success 1. She divines water 2. All her favorite fruit by Camper Van Beethoven
If you had $2500 to spend on a new TT and cart.....what would you buy?
These are all good- I asked because I am deciding and every table mentioned - minus the used suggestions (which are also good ideas that I have considered- but didn't research used tables) were in the running. I am leaning towards the Clearaudio C...
You can go home again
@douglas_schroeder I am bracing for the shock.  Its all part of this fun little hobby.  Here's hoping the sound improves as the room will be improved over what I had.  For starters its on a slab with plush carpeting instead of being on a a 2nd flo...
