Linn Basic LVX or Rega RB300 ? After selling 2 LP12's 4500.00 and 3500.00 I got the Rega RP3 with the RB 303 arm. Then I got a smoking deal on another LP12 with a Black Ittok LVII arm and rebuilt it with a custom plinth. The Rega was sold and is crap IMO with a cheap plinth and...
Speaker decision $3000-3500...help Lipinski L-707 or L-505 (smaller speakers) sound great with any type of music that I've played throught them. Tube or SS friendly.
Speaker for nearfield listening? Lipinski L707's You don't really even have to toe them in. Fantastic sounding. I may be moving up to the next size due to moving my system downstairs going from an 18x17x8 to a 34x26x9 room.
Do Rega arms work well with LP12s? Goforth. Give me a hollar about the Ittock arm. I can't reach your message box. 727-688-3231 Roger
Do Rega arms work well with LP12s? Just get the Ittock LVII or the Ekos if you can afford it. Wait for it if you have to, it'll be worth it. Skip all the upgraded bullshit and you'll still have a great sounding table. I rebuilt 3 of them and I'm not mechanically inclined, and all 3...
Power up my Cary tube integrated? Fire it up!
Preamps suggestions for cary cad120s SLP98P I have that combo. You won't need to upgrade to the MK II since the 98 has plenty of gain. The 98 is an excellent pre, and the phono stage works very nicely. You can even use a MC cart. if it has at least 1.4mv good luck.
Preamp with tone controls? You may want to try a DBX 10/20/EQ. They have an excellent bypass and will not change the sound of your system by simply being hooked up. $350.00 to 400.00 good luck.
How do I break in a tube amplifier? Always make sure you have speakers hooked up to a tube amp, turn it on last, when starting up, turn it off first, when shutting down. Let it warm up for a few minutes then play music. You should run the amp at least 3 hours or not use it. When you ...
B & W Speakers - What's Up? Always use legal recource when buying or just admit to yourself that there are speakers that sound better than what you think sound best. You need the money more no matter what, unless you don't have to have a job, regardless of what you may be bu...
Can cary slp-03 work with 120S? I have the CAD 120's, and I promise you the SLP98 will work perfectly with it. It's hard to do but try to wait for the 98P if you can afford one. The CAD 120's is an excellent amp.
Tube amps that kick ass? Want good all around and good bass? Cary CAD 120's with Gold Lions. You must also have a good preamp too. |
