Stylus Force Gauge
I have the little Digital one from Mehran as well and it works very well... also have the old Shure from back when they were $5.00. If you get to Melbourne, you can try it. I may be as far as Vero next Friday as well. Missed seeing you at the reco...
Upgrade phono cartridge for Rega P3-24
It would not hurt to try it without any other phono stage. It may or not be loud enough for your taste, but it should sound good. You actually would not need a complete phono stage, just a good quality step up transformer too bump up the MC output...
Upgrade phono cartridge for Rega P3-24
The Exact cartridge is a good cartridge... no knocks there. My thoughts are that the Exact cartridge would be a good match for a stock P3-24, but with the upgrades that you have added to your table, you could easily justify more cartridge and get ...
Upgrade phono cartridge for Rega P3-24
The Lyra cartridges also sound very good in the Rega table/arm combos. The Dorian and Argo i are well worth investigating. They are MC cartridges that output about .6mv and mount easily in the Rega arm. Both are also available used on Agon as well...
Tube Amp to play with my B&W 803D
I had an ARC tube amp on my 802D's and it just couldn't provide the needed current. Went to a Wyred4sound Class D amp and it made a huge difference... lots of power (current). Look at their 500W ICE modules, will do the job. I'm actually bi-amping...
Music Hall MMF-5.1 or Project RM-5SE
Vic... You're right, they both come out of the same factory. They are advertised as a lot of bang for the buck, so I bought in as well. I just could not get the sound that I wanted, so they didn't do it for me. I ended up with a Rega and am very p...
Excellent Outdoor FM Antennas
I'm in central Florida, so I have a 200 mile shot to get Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami, luckily no mountains to go over. I have a 50 foot crankup tower that's been up since the 70's. I've always been happy with Wineguard antennas. The good antenna...
ARC REF3/LS26 with B&W user opinions?
Nick... I did not audition the REF3 but I'm sure it would be great if your budget permits. I'm not sure how much better than the LS26, and at their level of quality (both good) you would have to A-B them in your system. It would be hard to evaluat...
ARC REF3/LS26 with B&W user opinions?
Nick,I have a similar system that I use for HT and 2 channel. I have 802D mains, Wyred4sound class D amps and the LS26. The only difference may be that I am bi-amping the 802D's with 4 amp modules, two at 250W and two at 500W and of course the pow...

Vinyl NOOB questions
It can be difficult to find an audio store with a good selection of tables, cartridges and accessories. You didn't mention where you are located. Also does your current preamp/integrated have a phono input? If so, then a MM cartridge should work d...
Vinyl NOOB questions
1. Both types are good, and when you find a TT you like, it may come with a cartridge at a good combo price.2. The phono stages mentioned will work fine, also look at the Jolida tube stage... very adjustable and will work with most cartridges... r...
K&K any comments?
John...Do you have the current K&K phono stage, if so which configuration and options? Thanks,Paul
Best ss pwr amp for LS26
I am really pleased with the LS26 driving a SS amp. I'm using a Class D in a bi-amp configuration (2@250wpc and 2@500wpc). Also, silver wire balanced interconnects. Great combination at a very reasonable price and maintains the personality of the ...
ARC LS26 vs BAT VK-31se preamps
Brouch... the change was not Night and Day but the DR's were good improvement over the stock tubes. I fell better depth to the soundstage and just a smoother performance to the LS26 especially in the bass. Try to find tubes from the mid 1980's, th...
