Sonos also just released a free controller app for the iPad. Really slick! Can't imagine that there is a nicer controller out there for any system.Paul
How to use Ipad for best sound
Since you are on a PC, you should try dBpoweramp for your conversions. It will let you do the conversion in one step to just about any format. I store all my masters in FLAC and then convert as required. You didn't mention how you were coming out o...
The Best modifications for the Sony 5400 sacd
Not sure what you expect out of a piece of equipment but 10,000-12,000 hours is a lot of time. That's over 2 hours/day for 16 years. More than the tubes will be worn out after 12,000 hours, probably need a completely new transport or more likely a...
Anybody own any direct-to-disc LP's?
I have a bunch of them and they are very good. Try the Sheffield Label and maybe a Lincoln Mayorga album. They show up here from time to time and always on Ebay. A good used record shop will have them as well.... try Bananas Music in St Petersburg...
Favorite Pianists
Just look at the photo of Diana Krall at the top of the music section, that's a pianist. I wouldn't even care if she brought her piano.
Wyred DACS
The USB works well on the Bryston, however only with CD quality digital files. It has a 16 bit/48kHz limit on the USB. I have been using the BNC/coax input and it will do 24/192. If all you have is USB, then a device like the HiFace is probably th...
One Box Player for digital/Sonos
Also, with the latest Sonos software release, you can now use two of the S5's as Left and Right channels in a single zone. Easy setup!Sure wish they would do HD files.Paul
Wyred DACS
No regrets... I have been using a Benchmark USB DAC with 16/44.1 files and it has been a very enjoyable piece going through an ARC LS-26 preamp.I have since been ripping some of my vinyl to HD files, 24/96 and 24/192 so I felt that I also wanted t...
Wyred DACS
Johsti... Yes, it seems all Wyred products go for a 6moons glowing review, so whatever that means. There's a good handfull of Agon members that I would rather have review it, as well as listen to it myself. Specs make for interesting reading but h...
Wyred DACS
I've been following this thread and others for the last 3-4 months and was really hoping for great things from the Wyred DACs. I've been a big fan of the Wyred amps for several years. However, my feeling is that it just isn't happening... at least ...
M2Tech HiFace - using it? Like it?
In reading the thread, there seems to be an audible improvement in using the BNC rather than the RCA termination. Also an improvement in going with an external power supply. Not sure if anyone tried it, but would there be a difference in where the...
Do I need ASIO for Windows 7 ?
Schwinnindia...I'm years removed from running XP anything so I can't help with how an XP system sounds. However, I would feel very RAM limited with XP. The better players load into memory for a better delivery. With Win7 you can easily do an 8GB R...
Do I need ASIO for Windows 7 ?
Schwinnindia... XP to Win7 is a jump of a lot of years of technology. Depending on its age and the availability of drivers your present computer may or may not be compatible with Win7. Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor as a place to start. For exam...
Vinyl pops and clicks: Can they be eliminated??
Sunnyjim... do you have a digital setup that will play 24/96 HD digital files?
I have the DAC w/ the USB port, now what?
Tbg... if that works for you great! I never said it didn't. However, here we have a person who hasn't even plugged in what he has already. He has a computer and a DAC, let's give him a chance to try it out and get his feet wet first. Maybe the res...
