Upgradying Tube Preamp
The linestage is important to drive an amp to its full potential and provide a way to select between sources unless you have only one source. But more importantly it should sound good with your current setup. Unfortunately there is no clear way to...
Upgradying Tube Preamp
You most definately need to upgrade your preamp, I have owned the same AES preamp and was dissapointed with its sonics. In fact it spent the least amount of time before selling it.
The future of preamps
I'm hoping someone could figure out how to eliminate the power amp as well so I can find a different hobby.
Belles 150A ref V2 vs Bryston 4BSST2
I have owned many solid state amps, Conrad Johnson, Audio Research, McCormack, Bat, Bryston, etc and some were very good but the Belles really pulled away from the crowd & stood out in a positive way. I have not heard that big tall, room filli...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
Oddiofyl, very good point & you are right, I enjoyed reading your post. Case in point, my daughter thought my system sounded good but she said I don't know what to listen for. She loves music but she was content going back to her room and list...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
If its not in your blood, it's not in your home. Audiophiles represent a small segment of society and we enjoy the fact that we can, and do distinguish ourselves from the mainstream. This in turn makes us very unique in good way.
Belles 150A ref V2 vs Bryston 4BSST2
You don't see the Belles 150a for sale very often and it is relatively inexpensive to purchase but I think it sounds spectacular. One thing to be noted is that it has a very full sound, kind of reminds me of the Odyssey Stratos in that regard. I'm...
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Wolf_Garcia, there always seems to be comprises made with it comes down to choice of beverages. We already know that anything that makes you feel good will eventually kill you. But if that don't kill you, somwething else will.
Why is 2 Channel better than multi-channel?
Multi-channel can be a gimmick to some but when I first used it I was impressed that it provided a very involving listening experience with movies. Fast forward a few years, my interest in it has diminished and I couldn't be bothered sometimes to ...
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Albertporter thanks for your response as well as others. I think your choice of beverages is pretty much main stream and sounds reasonable. At least we have had an opportunity to share this information and that we have put a different face on audi...
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Rx8man, I leave the details to you, if you could promise to pull that off, I'll will raise the cash (which I'm good at) but which musicians would you have perform?
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Lindisfarne you are already here, welcome to my virtual space you have been grandfathered in, just allow me to tidy up a bit before we proceed. Do you live here in Washington state?
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
NOTE!! Don't respond to this thread because it is an exact duplicate of what already exists and I will refer you to that one. I will have Audiogon delete this particular one. Sorry for the inconvience.
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Lindisfarne, you should know that marijuana is legal in my state (Washington state). I have tried it but I didn't inhale and no I did not have sexual relations with that women.
Heads Up: ARC is introducing the new SP-20 in Fall
Taters, I would love to hear an answer to the question you put forth but I just don't think your going to get a response because they have their own agenda, whatever that might be.
