20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017 Jafant, I'm sorry I didn't answer sooner, I've been so busy listening to the MF-2500A that I didn't notice till now that you asked a question about it. I love it!! It sounds spectacular from a cold start but here's the clincher, the sound continue...
Where do I start-amp or speakers ? This reminds of what came first, the chicken or the egg or in this case the amp or speakers. Do your research on speakers as to which will offer the best sound for your dollar, also keep in mind that the more sensitive they are, the less money you...
20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017 Jafant, if their not listening to these CJ amps, they should be!
Full-sounding SS amps (besides Pass) I'm going have to second the Belles amplifiers including their Reference. They are well known for putting out a tall but full sounding soundstage, it is quite remarkable when you hear one.
20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017 In regards to my above post, I think it begs the question if Mr. Carver can simply manipulate his circuit to compete with some very expensive amps why didn't he build his amps originally to sound that good? Would love to get Bobs answer on this qu...
20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017 I think it is possible that Class A/B solid state amps made a significant jump in sound quality in the early nineties. If we go back twenty years from 2017 that puts us at 1997, so there were some very good amps even manufactured back then. To man...
2018 exactly what is ‘High End’ audio? Lets break it down. There is low, medium, and high. Can you be low end?, or you might be medium end which is normally called midfi. The word End means the final step. So supposingly you can't get better than High End? Which finally begs the questi...
Are you getting ridiculous offers from new members Awhile back and during the golden era of Audiogon there was a time when none of us had feedback and a seller went out on a limb and gave an opportunity to some individuals to get established, good deal! However there are now more risks because the...
Cartridges: Complete Scam? I would like to add this about the cartridge scam,_______ and then the thread in general________. Thanks for your interest.
Changed amplifiers and need some feedback... Keep in mind, Klaus's preamps are not as good as his power amps. Preamps are very hard to get right and I would look elsewhere from a manufacturer who can get it right like Audio research, Conrad Johnson, and several others with a good track record.
Changed amplifiers and need some feedback... The Odyssey amps are very good for the price and can sound 3 D in the proper setup. There are a lot of excellent reviews on these on the internet and they are not often seen for sale anymore. Can they be bettered? Of course but you are going to ha...
Opening a can of worms Suttle improvements in cable changes can represent a milestone for many. However I can change interconnects and hear a noticeable difference providing this is done on the same day. One time I ordered a new pair of Cardas interconnects and was such...
Seller suspended from Audiogon... Actually death is not final and funerals are for the living. We are here to choose between good or evil, make your choice.
Is it the beer or do speakers/electronics really need some extended warm-up period? But kidding aside at least an hour warm up will start to bring out the beginnings of what will sound better and leaving it on over night (which I prefer) sounds the best in my opinion. At one point and a few years back I had some components that t...
Is it the beer or do speakers/electronics really need some extended warm-up period? You have choices, you can settle in with inferior gear but you will need a case of beer each and every time to make it sound better or you can buy quality gear and dispense with the beer entirely. Either way it's going to cost you. |
