Your favorite audio cartoons I'm trying to find a copy of a line drawn cartoon where a young child is sitting in from of a turntable and a wall as tall as the sky of LPs. It is a poster on the wall of a Vinyl shop near me. Ring a bell for anyone?Agreed, this post had me lau...
I heard the Box SO, what does the box actually sound like? Not sure if I have heard it, but maybe.
Gryphon Diable 300 DAC vs. Lumin X1 DAC Sorry folks, my phrasing may be confusing. The correct way to put it would be to say a Roon Nucleus will be used as the core and all streaming will come through the X1 as the end point either as a streamer into the Gryphon DAC or as a streamer DA...
Do any of you kids , want your system ??? This is a great thread and very real set of questions, for which I have the following responses bases on what I have done.(1) First, I think it is important to factor in the kids and where they are in life. Daughter in graduate school now. Until...
Does Steely Dan sound bright to you? I have never cared much for later Steely Dan (SD), and certainly not for Fagen & Nightfly. Earlier stuff is to my liking, as they were more of a band. For me, later SD was not a band, it was a conglomerate. This is classic Type A listening ...
Gryphon Diable 300 DAC vs. Lumin X1 DAC @jayrossi13 I understand your point. What we are trying to do is isolate the DACs while keeping everything else constant as we can. Trying to figure out which DAC sounds better, the Lumin X1 DAC or the Gryphon DAC. All streaming will come throu...
Gryphon Diable 300 DAC vs. Lumin X1 DAC @jayrossi13 Recommendations from my audio consultant, and listening to what has been put into fellow audiophile's listening rooms. I heard the Gryphon and Lumin X1 independently, but never side by side.
Lumin U1 vs. Sonore SE @thegreenman Yes, I do have the Sonore all set up. Not sure I have all the correct names for these things but here it goes.(1) I have a ethernet switch close to the stereo. It is amazing how many places it goes to;(2) but in this case I run an e...
Sell Me Your Women, Your Children, Your Vintage Turntable... Just a couple of thoughts here, without any conclusions. This is a good discussion.(1) I like the idea of investing in a new cartridge first. There are exceptions of course. Wouldn't put a $5K MC cartridge on a $2000 turntable. (2) Looks do ma...
Why did you choose the components and speakers that are in your system? (1) McIntosh; (2) Analog (tubes); (3) Synergy [components & speakers, both]; (4) History of performance & quality; (5) My Sound Signature. I'm one happy camper, night after night.
You mean someone buys this stuff? I own a version of this table and play all my K-Tel Records on it. I outfitted it with a nice Zenith cartridge. When I am not spinning records, I use it to keep that nights Oil & Vinegar Salad dressing in solution.
Fraud and scam, how many of you are victims? My audio dealer has a guy. All this guy does is sell used audio equipment (big, medium and small stuff) online via several forums. He knows his way around. He assumes a !0% service fee for his work, and for me it is well worth it. He gets the ...
Bin dug noisy records. Does it diminish your enjoyment? Rarely will I purchase used records these days. It would have to be something special. Worse than trying to listen through the pops, ticks, and surface noise, is me sitting there wondering what this LP is doing to my stylus!
Good Music Couch (Sofa) @dekay No I have not tried such a low tech solution. I have always heard they don't work very well.Have you tried it? If so, what has been your experience? Thanks
Is your heart filled with a love of music, or something else? I love Music! All forms of music. But, Rap for me is a non-starter. Best definition I ever heard of Rap & Hip-Hop is "Bad Poetry to a boring Drum Solo." Yep, I'm biased, and I am good with that. |
