What's with all the new colored vinyl? They look pretty nice on acrylic platters though. So why not have some to please the eye also?
What's with all the new colored vinyl? All that matters is the quality control at mastering and production. Natural pvc has no colour, additives and black carbon (has conductive properties also) strengthen the lp and make it black and in the long run it would probably last longer. Col...
Inexpensive Good Vintage Turntables? +1 @cd318 for mentioning Pink Triangle as being the best belt drive of its generation. Not far from it. I have enjoyed that tt very much and was a sheer beauty. Pity that Arthur stopped improving it after Anniversary.
Why Do You Post? ...and let's admit that repetition kills interest but there are also new entrants and those who do not search in older or relevant posts. Fortunately, however, some will always respond even to same questions.
Why Do You Post? All posts in a forum have value when they do not make fun of the topic. It is nice to exchange, views, findings, knowledge and can support them with your own experiences. There are people here who have certainly learned something more, practic...

Measurements are for designers to ensure that a component works to specification and to improve on areas where they feel that those degrade audio quality. All measurements are objective but have credit and a meaning only when comparing apples to ...
Tube noise when gain is increased, tube issue? microphonic tube. Switch tubes and see what happens. If it is only one tube try another.
Cary SLP-05 Trim Pots My guess is for adjusting the balance phase when using the xlr's. Similar in SF line preamps.
You Want Affordable Hi-Fi, try this set-up. Lintons were my first speakers back in early 70's. Nowhere near current ones but the name bring back memories. Happy listening @russ69.
Do you build anything for your high fidelity system? If so, what do you make? Power cables, wall outlets, cable lifters, dc filter, modified my preamp and recapped my tuner.
Avoiding US dealer markups If you continue the journey in audio always deal with a good and reputable dealer, at the end of the day you will have won much more than the mark up. |
