Upgrade path from Wilson WattPuppy 7s? - seeking advice I heard the WP7's run with the Lamm ML2 triode at only 18 watts and thought the sound was outstanding. I would consider trying different amplifiers.
Sound via laptop vs phone vs tablet @crwindy let us know if that app helps you. I take Digital from my iPhone and iPad by running lightening out through apple camera conversion USB adapter and then through a powered hub. Does not sound bad, but have not compared it to a PC source.
Sound via laptop vs phone vs tablet @willemj you misread the post. He is getting digital out of his phone by using USB on the go. Should be all the same data stream. Perhaps more jitter?
Anyone Had Extended Listening Experience With MBL? Anyone have a sense of how MBL speakers would go with VAC electronics (e.g. Phi 200 amplifiers)
Mal Valve Headphone amp III Interesting posts! I'll have to check out the malvalve amplifier. Interesting that you prefer the SR007ii to the SR007i - I've read many that prefer the 007i. Have you heard anything about the new iFI iEnergizer Pro for the Stax? I'm hoping it h...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) I just got the following message from Andy at synergistic research:The current should flow from left to right as you read the fuse label (From “S” to “R”).
DC leakage from power amps Regarding the prescribed method quoted above, I would be concerned if using a tube amplifier. Some tube amplifiers require a load on them, so probably should not be tested without some resistance downstream of their speaker terminals.
Which Mid Level Turntables Ship Well and Are Foolproof? Thanks Rich and chakster. I think that the SP – 20 might be to Tweaky and involve too much technical skill for set up. We definitely need something easy to set up and maintain. It also sounds like the Stanton, and by inference the pioneer, is no...
Which Mid Level Turntables Ship Well and Are Foolproof? How about a Pioneer PLX-1000?
Which Mid Level Turntables Ship Well and Are Foolproof? Does the Project require tweaking of the suspension like a Linn LP12 (I did not love that). Or is it pretty plug and play once you've released the shipping locks? I don't think it's that far out of the price range.
Which Mid Level Turntables Ship Well and Are Foolproof? Oh, and by the way, he is currently using an older, mass market technics turntable and the phono stage in a Haffler preamp. I'm thinking that the Haffler stage should be pretty good, although the preamp itself is having issues. We will likely tr...
Would anyone like a tube hour counter for amps that don't have this function ? The question is how to get the split core current sensor to communicate with the hours counter. I am unclear about what kid of signal the hours counter requires, and whether the current sensor would provide this signal or if there would need to b...
Silly prices for Nordost cables I have had the power cords in my system, briefly, not owned by me! They are very good! A 5 to 10% improvement overall. But ridiculously priced!
Would anyone like a tube hour counter for amps that don't have this function ? Hi Mark. I think a temperature sensor would be most flexible, and optimally something on a thin wire that could be placed near the base of a power tube or on a transformer (mine do get hot). I was looking into making something like this for a tot...
Would anyone like a tube hour counter for amps that don't have this function ? Mark - my amplifiers are VAC Phi 200's. I'm actually surprised that they have 12v triggers given the current rush I sense when I turn the beefy switches on! I'm actually also surprised that my preamp, a VAC Signature Mk 2a Signature SE preamp doe... |
