Moving again...system finally complete...back to starting over
@blackhawkskid6 I’ve trimmed down my system and know what you mean about storing boxes etc. I’m in a townhouse so space is limited, and I also have neighbors which eliminates big floor standers and subs. I have the Dynaudio Heritage Specials which...
what amplification are you running with your Dynaudio Heritage Specials?
I use a Supernait 2 mostly and a Willsenton R8 for winter.
Amp vs Preamp which is more important?
Blind testing has led me to believe that the amp is a little more important.  Each component becomes increasingly easier to identify blind the closer you get to actually making audible sound. Source<Pre<Amp<Speakers.  I’m assuming a digit...
Amp to pair with FM Acoustics 122/245 combo ?
I'm curious, do you have all those speakers in one room or 3 different rooms/systems?  I have two integrateds, one tube one SS in my listening room and usually swap between them depending upon weather (if its hot I go SS). If they are in the same ...
Help chosing an integated amp
Did you like the sound of your bridged mono blocks?  Thats how the MF is set up.  Its a 4ch amp running in a bridged dual mono configuation.  If that worked well for you I'd lean towards the MF.
Low Powered Tube Amp Distorting High Efficiency Speakers?
Actually that's a good point, hopefully its the tubes or even the source thats causing distortion. Try replicating the problem with a differert amplifier if you have something else available on hand.  If it still exists, it could be the speakers, ...
Low Powered Tube Amp Distorting High Efficiency Speakers?
Your comment on the distortion showing up in certain high frequencies makes me think it’s a bad driver.  Things like cymbal crashes will sound a bit fuzzy and not crisp. One of the negatives of some high sensitivity designs is that they tend to be...
Pass Labs x250.8 vs tube amps
It’s not the amp, it’s your ears and what’s between them.  Listening to music that you enjoy will release hormones like dopamine. Listening to songs you like, and more importantly, allowing yourself to relax and enjoy the music will speed up the p...
Garbage In Garbage out
@recklesskelly no thanks. That’s what caused the belly ache in the first place. As for the whole high vs low sensitivity debate, the claim that speakers need to measure high in sensitivity is nonsense.  The whole argument falls apart pretty quic...
Garbage In Garbage out
@recklesskelly  When did I claim to be to a marketer or businessman?  My role in audio is as a consumer.  But I agree with your depiction of Mark as a marketer.  Being successful in this industry takes great marketing.   Engineers can design a cir...
Garbage In Garbage out
Do you really think Mark Levinson, a man well into his 70's, can intentify the differences between tape masters and hi res digital in blind testing?  No and he'd never be fool enough to try and prove his claims.  Lots of opinions out there but ver...
$50k - $80k Budget…Opinions please.
@toddcowles The advice was general, nothing specific to you personally and it wasn't an invitation for a financial debate.  I am in the business of wealth building so your comments touched a nerve. I can't tell you how many clients I've worked wit...
Looking for an Amp Replacement
For back ground music/lower volumes all of these amps will sound exactly the same.  Seriously, you will not be able to pick them apart blind with any statistically significant confidence.  The lowest cost suggestion is the one you should go with. ...
$50k - $80k Budget…Opinions please.
This thread is absolute madness. From a financial point of view you should not be "saving up" for a system, at least not in the traditional sence, I will expand upon that in a bit. This is a hobby, a complely unnecessary indulgence. You should be ...
speaker recommendations for Ayre V-5xe?
I’m settled on speakers but trying to figure out the amp, so go with the Dynaudio Heritage because I’m curious on how they’d pair with Ayer. Oh and because the Dyn’s are amazing. Also a suffering Rangers fan that lives in Florida so I feel your pa...
