Router for Audio Streaming I have no recommendation for a router because netgear makes good products. A UPS might be a good idea for the next router. I am running Netgear AC 1200 network from my router. It is 1ghz and the throughput is Plenty for my bluesound node II. I h...
Inherited a pair of JBL 4350 -- Need Advice OMG, Those JBL 4350s would be great in a large room or home theater. Wow! I cannot imagine that you will have them for long if put up for sale. Grills can be made without much pain.
different people may hear the same sound differently... Ha,ha! It's not only the ears that matter, but what's between them.
Preamps can color sound considerably. Surprising? Your absolutely right. Preamps have their own characteristic sound. When I did a demo in my first home system with 3 preamps before I purchased. All were on my turntable and speakers in my room. What matters is what type of sound do you like and ...
Listening after your entire system was powered off cold for a week+ Most of what I notice is slowness getting Ethernet connected again with the network sreamer and innuos needing an IP refresh. As far as sound, once everything is updated sound has been the same for me. I'm on comast if that matters.
Speakers I am experienced at DYI speaker builder. Many good suggestions on this thread. 1. The wrench could be stuck to the magnet. Be aware of buzzing or any unusual sound if the wrench stuck in the spider it could vibrate a hole in the woofer. I am no...
Bragging rights..... Hey, you already bragged! Ha,ha, but that's OK. One part (of many) rewarding things of reading on this discussion forum is to learn what good products are out there. I am happy you found one you like. I tend to pick components and live with the...
DAC suggestions I like my Shiit Bifrost. Sounds fluid not digital but like analog. Bass is low and clear, the rest sounds like it should. I am sure there are many good ones depending on what you want to spend. Dollar for dollar it is difficult to beat Shiit. Chec...
The MoFi Mess and TAS rolling over for them My feeling on the matter is this. Honesty matters to me. If I purchase a Mercedes from a dealer and get a Volkswagen that is wrong. Even though both are good German automobiles. It is not what I paid for and that's part of the problem. For people ...
Where did you buy your first audio gear? World Radio, Lincoln, Ne. I was 14yrs old when I bought my first system. I worked all summer mowing lawns and a winter shoveling snow to pay for it. Pioneer SX 424, dual turntable, Utah 10" 3 way bookshelf speakers. The Utahs had an annoying bu...
WILL IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE? I suggest you compare side by side at a brick and mortar Hi end store that will let you bring in your Fritz speakers. They look very nice. Compare a Primaluna to the Hegel. I compared the integrated EVO 100 with a Hegel H390. Both were great but ...

Building JBL Laners from the JBL blueprints and Buying the LE 14A, Le20,LE5H mid components. Total speaker cost under $700.
Power cords or power conditioner I recommend you either place the system in a better room or make the room you have acoustically neutral. You might have audio being canceled out due to reflections. I doubt the problem is with power. I use a cheap power conditioner from Trippligh...
Does dose anyone see these speakers in real? I built my speakers and are very nice to look at. Style like the Paragon speaker of old. They sound very expensive. I will sell them to you for 5 million!
Best Dedicated Streamer I have been happy with Innuos. Works great with Roon. I plugged in a 2TB USB for backups. Works seamlessly. |
