Vinyl Outselling CD Fashion. Pure and simple.
why don't they get it? Look, my wife and daughters find the Jaguar XK-E to be the ugliest car ever. I think it has to do with hormones!
Lack of bass with SP-9 MK3 Hard to tell without knowing what the other parts of the system are. Look, if you got used to exaggerated bass you will get used to a more realistic presentation if you give it some time. I seriously doubt that changing tubes will give you the bas...
lack of interest I can understand wanting a local sale for large speakers as I would be quite leery of shipping them. I think the price has to be somewhat lower and the seller should probably expect a longer wait for a sale to materialize.
SACD anyone??? I always felt that Aaron Copland's "Billy the Kid" and "Rodeo" were C&W and you have some choice on SACD.
The sealed LP... what is the point? I think it points to the fact that, like it or not, an LP's surfaces start deteriorating the minute it is played,
Digital Volume Control any good ? I am running a Linn Genki directly into an ARC VT-100 Mk. III and am quite sure that the volume control is digital and am happy with the sound. A preamp will be added later when something decent and well priced comes along. I think that most warni...

ARC VT-100 mk1 or BAT VK-60? ARC all the way! If you have enough cash, get a Mk III. Even with the Mk I if you are not satisfied with it, you can sell it a decent price and not lose much on it, assuming, of course, you bought it at the right price yourself.
Law of "increasing returns" Oyaide AC outlet/plug In the area of belief and faith everyone is right.
Regardless of how much you've spent... Well the "... regardless of how much you spent..." seems a bit naive to me, but I still find that equipment gets in the way of the music for the vast majority of 'philes.
ARC REF2 5AR4 arcing on warmup I feel lucky that the one I recently bought has no such problem. From a tech here who has a lot of experience on ARC equipment: most of the time a problem with tube equipment can be traced back to a bad tube.I would bet your replacement tube is fa...
Anyone listen to an Aesthetix Atlas amp yet? Wonder if it will be as trouble free as all the Calypsos and Rheas out there?
Do you remember? John, all I'm saying is that there are obvious things that have to be done and covering all your costs and adding a margin for profit is obviously a basic requirement. What you seem to be saying is that the price of a product can never be too high... |
