Thomas, I said Pressing NOT Mastering. Different pressings can yield different results based on the presses useed, where your record is in the pressing order (first or last to be pressed) batches of vinyl at the pressing facility, etc.

This will probably be a missing target. I imagine, just like in the good ol' days, that different pressings will yield different results.

I can't answer your question directly but, remember you don't need to invest in NOS tubes to find out. You can buy many reasonably cost used tubes. Most input/driver tubes that Cary designs around are readily available. If that fixes the problem. ...

For those of you who THINK you have "coveted" pieces at "reasonable" prices; that's not for you to decide. Buyers will decide that. If you're stuff was coveted and priced reasonably, it would sell - period. 
Tweaks for turntables?
I bought a Clearaudio Outer/Periphery ring. Pricey but awesome. That in conjunction with a big center weight keeps your records flat and stable!!
