Rega or ClearAudio Turntable
Clearaudio is more CD like!I would any day take a Rega P8 or a Thorens TD350. If you are getting into analogue, knowing all the hassles, you better get the essence of analogue playback which lot of the modern TTs miss (that includes Clearaudio IMO).
Lyra Skala
Skala is now sold.
Lyra Skala
Has anyone heard both Skala and Delos in similar systems ? Considering that Delos is already considered outstanding does the Skala better it as a whole ?
LP12 vs Classic III vs. ?? vs.??
Theo, I dont own any Avid TTs. But I have heard them multiple times. Yes, there is a dealer close by. I do lurk around UK forums often and I dont remember anyone complaining about Avid quality or customer service.I dont have extensive experience w...
LP12 vs Classic III vs. ?? vs.??
Hi Theo,IMO, no matter what you listen to, there is a style of playback that a seasoned audiophile generally prefers. Since you are coming from a LP12 background I would like to assume you like UK style of music presentation, which is vivid, bounc...
LP12 vs Classic III vs. ?? vs.??
Theo, I have heard the LP12, P9 and Avid. Avid Volvere is one of the best TTs I know of for the money. Its upgraded version, the "Sequel" is eerily close to the Acutus sonically and some even prefer it to the Acutus. Rega P9 is good, it sounds dif...

Salectric, DP8 is very expensive, I am in the $2k range where at the max I can expect/aim to buy one of these four arms1. Graham Phantom (used)2. Moerch DP6 (new/used)3. Naim ARO4. Rega RB1000I have heard the Rega on a Rega P9 TT and liked it a lo...
Best Phono Cable for Ortofon MC Anna
Good to know Pani. This cable came with my Moerch DP-6 and I have been wondering if I would benefit from an upgrade to a more expensive cable. Looks like I will be trying cables that offer an audition/return option. Roscoeiii, undoubtedly you have...
Graham Phantom or Morch DP6 ?
Thank you Roscoeiii. I remember reading somewhere that the Graham is more analytical in its presentation whereas the Moerch has better drive and musicality. Trying to hear more comments on this forum. Graham definitely seems THE most popular tonea...
Best Phono Cable for Ortofon MC Anna
Out here we always end up discussing/recommending audiophile brands of cables which IMO in most cases are voiced. You pay for the voicing in general. If you talk about neutrality, the most neutral cable I have heard yet is Mogami (Japan). Here is ...
Next Phonostage
Have you thought about FM Acoustics 122 phonostage ?
Can a heavy tonearm be agile ?
Newbee, is it that simple ?
Lyra Kleos or EMT TSD 15 for Rega P9
Yes, you will be happy with either of them. The Benz is more neutral.
Lyra Kleos or EMT TSD 15 for Rega P9
What a coincidence Ktn, I am myself looking to upgrade to a Ebony TR (it is not Ruby TR I suppose). Since you have the SUT for it, I think it is a better bet compared to both TSD15 and Lyra. The TR supposedly (I have not heard it personally) has t...
Lyra Kleos or EMT TSD 15 for Rega P9
Ktn, the TSD15 has a colourful big bold sound, superbly macro dynamic and full sound without sacrificing anything in the high frequency. You get a impactful, forceful sound which is more like analogue. The Lyra is more like a modern day sound, pre...
