How does the VPI Aries II stand up to current mid priced tables?
So you would go with the Phoenix instead of the VPI ADS?
Nitpicking for Old Codgers & Others who may Give a Da**
They look like the old Monster Cable Powerline series. I had a pair of those back in the 80s.   But as you say, it's just plain lazy on the part of the seller and he needs to be called out on it.
Fear Inoculum in Vinyl
Ozzy if I'm a troll, you must be donkey. Vinyl is an outdated, overhyped, technically inferior format. and on top of that vinyl is expensive.  Ok Audiogon. Here it is for all of you to see. Nothing more need be said.......

Sonic frontiers
I bought a used SF Power 2 amp several years ago. It was the second worst sounding amp I’ve ever owned. I so wanted it to work, but it was gone in a couple of weeks. That said, I also owned an SFD2 dac and that piece was very nice.

I have a Phonos and I think it’s an outstanding phono preamp.
Phono stage price range 1500 to 2000 dollars.
SPL Phonos should be on your short list.

Affordable GaN FET amp from Peachtree Audio

The mystery of good acoustics

Is a separate phono pre really necessary?
If you are looking in the 2000.00 price range, consider the SPL Phonos. It has plenty of loading options for MC cartridges and capacitance settings for MM. Plenty of gain for even the lowest output. This is a fine sounding phono preamp IMHO.
