15 in full range drivers
Just a FYI. When a speaker is considered bright or fatiguing, it is hardly ever high frequencies that are the culprit. More often than not it is the upper midrange. @czarivey  Pretty stupid statement. My 300B amp sees a regular diet of metal, ha...
Eliminated my preamp with amazing results
I'm shocked that  you guys with difficult to drive speakers and low gain/low input impedance amps find an active preamp to sound better. Shocked, I say!
Efficient speakers -- What was your journey from A to B to ?
I have no doubt that the Volti speakers are great performers. I have not heard them, but I dealt with Greg Roberts a few years ago when I bought his xovers for a pair of Khorns. He's a great guy to deal with and knows his stuff. I bet his speakers...
Young audiophile metal head looking to level up speaker choice
Look at Klipsch Forte III or Forte IV. Both can be found on the used market from time to time.

Curious how people would react to the assertion, "Klipsch speakers need a more careful pairing than other similar speakers." That would be helpful, possibly, as a data point. @hilde45  I do think one needs to pay more attention to supporting g...

@ozzy  The LEEDH processor in the Lumin streamers is indeed fine sounding.

I am using a preamp, but it's a Hattor Audio passive device. I haven't heard any active preamp in my system (up to about 8K) that could beat a well designed passive. Not all systems will perform optimally without a preamp. But when it comes togeth...
Efficient speakers -- What was your journey from A to B to ?
I have had the gamut of speakers including magnepan, von schweikert, Wilson, and a host of others. Around 2013 a friend of mine brought over an early pair of Klipsch Heresy speakers. Like a crack dealer on the corner, he got me hooked. I immediat...
Zesto Andros 1.2
Thanks for all the comments so far.
Zesto Andros 1.2
Just don't go by cost as a measure of performance. Yeah, ah, no. That's not what I'm doing. But most of the time, allowances have to be made for a certain price point.  That said, when the dust settles I may prefer the SPL. There are no guaran...
McCormack DNA 0.5 vs. DNA 2.0 Deluxe
I agree with @soix on this one.   But here's my take on the DNA 2. Years ago I had a pair of DNA 1 Deluxe monoblocks driving some magnepans. On a whim I bought a DNA 2 thinking it might be better. Compared to the monos, it was rolled off on the ...
Tekton Open Baffle Speakers
Ok pindac. that’s A Good idea. Let’s keep It On topic. 🙄
Tekton Open Baffle Speakers
It makes about as much sense as a person randomly capitalizing words. Which is to say neither makes much sense. I guess it’s a mystery for the ages.
Tekton Open Baffle Speakers
Must be using some sort of talk to text program. But if so, it is definitely a glitchy one.

@pindac   No response to the question I posed to you above?
