Blue Ridge Sound Engineering Speakers ???
Duke,I think you are absolutely right. I thought the same thing, but didn't think my post would see the light of day.Oz
Joseph Audio RM33si vs. Coincident Super Eclipse
I had a pair of SE IIIs for a brief period, and I do mean brief. When I pulled one of the drivers out, what did I see? A Scanspeak 4" midrange as advertised? Nope, an Audax. Whassup with that?Oz
Break in period
>or better "the myth" of the "break in period<I assure the break-in is not a myth. And if you had a system capable of resolivng it, you would find that most componenets benefit from this "myth".Oz
Vandersteen Quatro v Magnepan 3.6
Question. What are V-4s, and where were they mentioned by the original poster?Oz
Blue Ridge Sound Engineering Speakers ???
>That said, our drivers are highly modified and not available off the shelf in the form that they're used in our speakers.<Yeah. You are the first manufacturer to ever tout that little detail.Oz
Nottingham Space Deck 294
I agree with Jbcortes. I have not personally heard the 294, but have owned two versions of the Spacedeck. I now have the newer version with the taller platter and Ace-Space arm. This table benefits greatly from placing it on a Neuance shelf instea...
Blue Ridge Sound Engineering Speakers ???
Yep, cheap fer sure. 240.00 worth of drivers + cabinets(300.00?) + labor(?) + xover parts (100.00?) = 2000.00 for finished product. Even though I am skeptical about how they might sound, the markup seems to be in line with other high end speaker m...
Phono Stage - Passive Pre- Amp: Results??
My preamp is a custom piece consisting of a K&K Audio phono stage and S&B TX-102 trannies. The phono gain is 70db and the input sens. of my amp is .75v. Cartridge output is 0.4 mv. Most speakers I use have varied from 89-92 db sens. and th...
Von Schweikert VR4-Mklll Vs Def Tech 7000SC
The VS is so much better than any DT speaker, it's almost laughable. Back in the mid 90s I replaced DT BP2000s with an original pair of VR4s. No contest. Now I have Gen III HSEs that are far better than the originals. If you aren't hearing "magic"...
VSA speaker owners What did you upgrade to?
>I am astounded. What? No Sonata IIIs? <After my experience with the Sonata IIs, I really didn't want to go down that road again.Oz
VSA speaker owners What did you upgrade to?
"I want to move towards as Tvad said, another aspect of dynamic designed loudspeakers... higher eff, with an easier imp for use with a broader range of amps"This is what I might do too. I love my HSEs, but I think my 100 watt RM9 strains to drive ...
New Von Schweikert VR SR4 mk11 Cream or Crap ???
Your room is very close to mine in size. My room is 15.5' x 26' and I have my HSEs 76" into the room measured to the back of the cabinet. They are only about 8 ft. apart, center to center with about 1" of toe in. This seems to give me the best bal...
Joseph Audio RM33si vs. Coincident Super Eclipse
Why don't you post this in the forum? You will likely get more responses there.Oz
New Von Schweikert VR SR4 mk11 Cream or Crap ???
In my opinion, you will need to get the speakers much farther from the front wall for the bass to sound right. These are big speakers and they need some space. 27" is hardly enough for even a mini-monitor.Oz
