Does anyone do off-axis listening as well as Magicos?
Most horns do an excellent job off axis.

Beautiful speakers. But an 85 db speaker can only be so friendly to a tube amp, no matter how smooth the impedance.
Considering a Raven Audio Blackhawk Integrated for Tannoy Sterlings
I am not comfortable with the belief that one could tube roll an amp that is designed for use with EL34s as output tubes to sound like one designed for 845s. I could be wrong.  Indeed correct. I have owned the Line Magnetic 518ia and many EL34 ...

@hilde45You misunderstood. The question was directed at miller since he described the qualities of the Raven amp, I asked him if he had heard it.Had nothing to do with Mesch.

You want bloom and air, soundstaging and imaging without any added warmth. You will find what you want with Raven.Just curious if you've auditioned a Raven amp? Crickets............

Upgrading from my Bluesound Node 2 streamer
The Lumin app works best on apple devices. I have used it on a Samsung Tab A and it was ok, but far better on an ipad. I wouldn't even attempt to use it on ANY phone.Oz
Have speakers really improved within the last 20 years??
You are asking for measurements. Then you say audiophiles want better sound quality. These two don't have to be mutually exclusive, but they don't always go hand in hand. I don't listen to measurements, I listen to music. And if speaker A measures...
Upgrading from my Bluesound Node 2 streamer
I had a Bluesound Node 2i and upgraded to a Lumin U1-mini. It was a very noticeable step up in sound quality. The node is a good value and does a lot of things right, but sounds mechanical and less involving than the Lumin when using the same outb...
Do you use a Subwoofer when listening to stereo?
Hmm. Could someone explicitly confirm what I read here is true: that, even if I use twin-subs, I should set the bass on my speakers to 'Large'? If you really care about accurate integration with your speakers, connect the subs using the speaker...
Monoblock setup inquiry
@douglas_schroeder Sounds like you are referring to the Vidar. The OP is talking about the Aegir. Totally different amp.@glaspmartTo use the Aegir as a monoblock, you will need to use XLR connections, just so you know. And BTW, the scuttlebutt is ...
Do you use a Subwoofer when listening to stereo?
I am using two HSU ULS-15s to augment a pair of Klipsch Cornwall IVs. I am running the CW IVs full range and bringing the sub in @ 35 Hz. Excellent integration and it only barks when the occasion calls for it.Oz
Old school speaker in new threads
Not bad, but definitely made to a price point. But you can get a used Cornwall I or II for about the same price or a little more and have the real deal. Also not sure how you avoid comb filtering with those two tweeters.Oz
Aegir upgrade to Pass...maybe
The problem with the crites cornscala isn't the tweeter but the mid. It is too hot and needs to be bumped down a little in level. A pair of ALK xovers do the trick.Oz
Poor Fritz
@kenjit Not only are you obtuse, but your math doesn’t work. How can you buy drivers for 300.00, pay a cabinet maker  and still save two thousand dollars on speakers that cost 2200.00?
