Anybody who has experice with multi arm tables?? There are no switches on the Nottinghams, just two armboards. I think that's the case with at least most two-arm tables, but i don't know for a fact. Good luck
Time to get things straight. I hope you were not refering to my post as I really don't care what people like. Like all avangelists Psychicanimal likes to polarize the issue and i think his motives are based less on fact than on justification. That is what spurred my comment. ...
Ideas for a complete analog set up 2500- 3500 Most suspensionless TTs, and arms in your range have similar setup issues. It is more of a matter of a more precise setup yielding better sound. Basically the exception would be the P25 with a rega cartridge, and cartridges that are less dependent...
Time to get things straight. Marakenetz - What other TTs in the price range of the P3 have you experienced? You say that you should have invested more, so are you giving a negative evaluation of the the Rega, or the entire range of TTs in its range? Most have roughly the same...
Turntable Set-up Resources - Help The audioasylum.com FAQ helped a lot with my setup. And Chazzbo gave good advice: a mirrored protractor is quite a bit better than a paper one. I would add that if you do not have one, you should get a pretty decent level. I'm not postive, but i t...
Time to get things straight. An anti-Rega/breaking the chains of Technics oppression thread? Really worth while, especially since most of your posts pertain to the same topic. Good tact...way to promote a TT and justify your choice...send out fliers. Everyone who posts Rega i...
Best looking / worst looking amps & preamps Good looking is Pathos and YBA Passion, ugly is Nagra and Krell.
Getting started on vinly - new/used setup for 500 There's an ad for SOTA Moonbeams complete w/ arm, cart. and other accessories in Stereophile. The dealer is www.hmcaudio.com , and the price is $569. Looks like a decent enough deal, but i have no experience with it. From firsthand knowledge, I ca...

Which SPEAKER for the 21ST century? Maybe i am one of only a few who has never heard of that design, but it sounds really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Alice and Chains I don't think it is very appropriate to discuss this much further, so all i will add is that there was not any misunderstanding on my part. Nothing your second post added was new to me. I was not taking on all aspects of your point, just the one t...
Anyone know the dimensions of Basis 1400? A cool thing about the Basis, i don't know if you know, is that there is flexibility in the orientation of the motor to tthe table. It can be to the side, in the back...
SS amps. Why so much power? 1)A true audiophile, i think, buys the amp that will allow their speaker to best do what it does, including decent SPLs. My speakers as well as others' just require high power to really do anything at all. 2)The mid-phile will buy the most powerfu...
Alice and Chains Very sad. I thought he had a great voice.Actually, no studies I have seen (more than a few) show that faith itself correlates with depression. I am a psych major writing a thesis with a small part pertaining to the correlation between affiliation ...
Beginner in Vinyl - How far should I go? A cheap TT like the TEAC will wear the records more than than the entry hi-fi TTs due to lack of cartridge/arm adjustment and maybe b/c of the poorer quality cart. A well set up rig with a decent cartridge goes a long way in avoiding wear. And i a... |
