If I block the speaker, will it damage the drivers? Blocking or "plugging" ports will not damage drivers. I say, "good for you" ; ports can be pretty bad.
Think twice before concluding some thing sounds better People chose their tvs wrong as lcd pushed out plasma. Shows you can't trust any sense 😄 Thanks for the lead, shadorne.
Wilson Audio Haters I echo others' sentiments that if Wilson was not very successful, no one would hate them. Some people seem use Wilson as comparison to sound smarter as they "graduate" past the brand, which is social marketing issue not related to the product. The...
HAPPY FESTIVUS Thanks! Almost forgot the holiday you can laugh at and with. Jerry Stiller was great. "Stop crying and fight your father."
Any News on MQA Lately? There is some recent MQA discussion on audio asylum. They did do an hi-rez/MQA demo of the same song at RMAF with an emphasis on reducing temporal distortion. The result of the demo was, of course, forgone, and the difference was quite large.

Acoustic Zen, Reference 3A and ATC I was told by ATC people that for the active versions phase is adjusted
Ryan R630 or Spendor D7 My thoughts that may help, or not:1) Both are great lines.2) Stereophile published their measurements of the D73) I think Ryan tweeters are less likely to be bright in near field, although may be total non-issue with Spendors. I have heard only t...
RMAF 2016 Thank you. Too bad for me as I am interested in the horning speakers. Better to find out now certainly. That Marriott has been very due for remodel.
KEF Reference 1 I think highly of KEF's Uni-Q driver and have been considering it for my next speaker. It has an and excellent frequency response and even dispersion. I would guess the Reference 1 does not need much side-wall treatment to sound great.
Anyone use a subwoofer system with YG Carmel One feature I personally appreciate about yg is their sealed enclosure. I wouldn't add a ported sub.
Wilson Yvette Sorry for the delay in answering questions. I listened to the Sabrina a couple of times in close field. I thought it was more coherent, like better time-aligned than Sophia. Sabina plays taller than the speakers are. My local dealer, Audio Concept...
Wilson Yvette Oh, man. I messed up my post. Yvette and Sophia III* have similar dimension and charts. "When is the release of the Yvette supposed to happen?"I think they are "released", but do not know when dealers will have them. I asked mine on facebook. We'l...
Has anyone had any luck with Lovan equipment racks? Ikea Lack for a stand is decently known. The end user usually has to modify it for their use. Sound-wise they are impeccable for the money, and far better than rodded MDF shelves.
The Best of Fellow Audiophiles. A long time ago when I was barely in to this hobby Albert Porter lent to me a power cord as an educational point. I was struck by this favor because he barely knew me. |
