Xti16, of course the stands will not produce an audible ring when one listens to music. However, one will be able to pick up some standing waves, i.e. ring, when placing a stethoscope on one of the stands - it is an empty pipe ... That is why I sa...
mbl - is there a problem?
Danielk141, of course the distributors are very important. However, like with all big names it is a privilege for a distributor to represent MBL in USA (not the other way around). Thus, I find hard to believe that they will choose a distributor wh...
New Amp for Dynaudio Contour S 1.4 Speakers
Allen, Extravaganza made a very good suggestion. Musical Fidelity amps/integrated from the A5 and KW series pair very very well with the Contour S 1.4 speakers.Another idea is to keep your amp, as it is a very good one, and get a pair of Wilson Du...

Hi guys,I was not ware of the new stands without the loge. That is good enough for me. (When I have demoed the C1 mk2s the dealer had the old stands and I did not like the fact that the speakers had a different logo that the stands. I told the dea...
mbl - is there a problem?
Whenever I try to read anything about MBL speakers here on audiogon I stumble on this Dev character attacking people, making fun of their systems, repeating over and over than nothing compares to the sound of HIS MBL based set-up ... I am not quit...

OK Xti16, so I have remembered correctly. Given the price of the speakers I find this very strange. I would definitively be unhappy with such a situation and most likely postpone the purchase of the stands till Dynaudio updates them (or try to get...

Raindog031, 5.5K for a pair of C1 mk2s with stands is a very good price. One detail you might want to check about the mk2 version is whether or not the speakers and the stands have the same logo. Dynaudio has changed its logo and if I am not mista...
Cardas Speaker placement..
Spaz, I understood you would prefer to keep the speakers in the current position. I was merely suggesting to probe the room bass response before rebuilding the ceiling. It is very difficult to predict how the low frequencies will interact in a roo...
Are the JL Fathom subs really that good....
Johnnyb53, the speaker position in a room gives the most natural midrange will almost never yield also the best bass response. Whether or not one will obtain good results by placing the subwoofers close/next to the main speakers depends entirely o...
Are the JL Fathom subs really that good....
Irv, I would say that most often integration problems between the main speakers and subwoofers are not caused by the fact that the two are not time aligned. For example, if we place a subwoofer between the speakers and then we move it say 2 meter ...

Way to go guys! Very useful responses so far ... u don't know how to set up... I tweak... I measure .... patience ... Jb8312, I have seen on your system page that you have the Verity Audio Parisfal Ovation speakers. If I am not mistaken their bass...

Xti16, I was afraid my response will upset you. I am glad it did not as that was not my intention. We both like very much the C1s speakers, plus we are among the very few here who recommend quality watts over quantity for them. Raindog031, sorry f...

Hi guys, sorry for the late reply.Raindog031, a room like yours, i.e. of almost 27 square meters, will be adequately pressurized by speakers that are much larger than the C1s, e.g. Wilson Sophia, B&W 802D, Avantgarde Uno and DUO (u get the ide...

Xti16, I did not say that there is not difference between the mk1 and mk2 models. I was just being practical. Since Raindog031 mentioned that his budget is limited and that he does not want to wait 3 years to buy a decent amp for the mk2s, I have ...
Cardas Speaker placement..
From what you told me so far I am quite sure the lack of bass you experience in your room is due to destructive interference. Before building a new ceiling (which will not guaranty better bass) I would place the speakers against each of the 4 wall...
