Luxman vs. Accuphase
Hi Hgeifman,Congratulation for the new amp!IMO it was definitively a good move to order the L-590ax especially since you plan to keep it for a long while. Best wishes,Paul
Marten Bird 2, B&W 800 Diamond or Wilson Sasha
I do not have much experience with the electronics you are considering. But I heard the B&W 800 diamond speakers paired with Accuphase electronics (C-2810 pre, A-45 power and DP-700 cd player). The combination was marvelous (one of the best I ...
Magico, Aerial, Dali
I had some experience with Dali Helicon 300 mk1 paired with a Bryston combo, i.e. the 4BSST power amp and the BP25 pre. The combination was not bad. Also, to me the Helicon 300 complemented with a sub were much much better than the Helicons 400s a...
Luxman vs. Accuphase
Hi Hgeifman, I am glad to hear (though a bit surprised) that the Luxman was that much better than your Ayre (maybe I have listen to a different Ayre integrated). In the Netherlands the L-550AX is 5800 euros while the L-590AX is 9350 euros. They ce...
Looking for the BASS
Vicdamone, thanks for the contribution. Writing a good long post takes time and often is not appreciated.Of course, choosing the right type of connection is essential for achieving a seamingless integration between subwoofer and the main speakers....
Looking for the BASS
Bondmanp, REL recomands that REL subwoofer to be placed in the corner, most likely there are also other manufactures that recommend this and/or design their woofers with this in mind. Some see this as a weakness or a sign of poor design, viz. the ...
Luxman vs. Accuphase
Hgeifman,Since you will take your speakers to the dealer why not taking also your electronics there and do a direct comparison. Your Ayre integrated is very good, and I do not see a reason to hurry things up. Take your time listen to as many integ...
Looking for the BASS
Hi Dopoque,Indeed there are many variable. But some parameters are much more important than others. For example, time alignment can really be considered a second order perturbations when compared to destructive and/or constructive interferences. R...
Luxman vs. Accuphase
Routeman21,When buying my E-550 integrated, I have compared quite a few Accuphase integrated, i.e. E-350, E-450, E-550 and E-408 (the predecessor of E-450), and my preference was E-550 > E-408 >= E-450 = E-350 (by ">" I meaning marginally...
Amp and Preamp for JM Lab Alto Utopias
Hi Bill,I am glad to read that everything worked out fine. So much for the MF being among the first 5 integrated at any price :).Look forward to see some pics of your new system!Best wishes,Paul
C 2400 with P ?? ,what is better E 460 E E 550 ??
Hi Nick,I hope my answer does not come too late.Your preamplifier, i.e. C-2400, is top notch and unless you would go for the top- of-the-line Accuphase preamplifier (i.e. C-3800) there is not reason to change it (IMO). The C-2400/2410 and C-2800/2...
Best speaker design for low to mid volume?
In general, the more efficient a speaker is the better will play at lower volumes. Consequently, horns will be the best choice. Since you can sit 10 feet away from the speakers Avantgarde UNO comes to my mind though might not have a too high WAF.A...
Accuphase E-460 vs Luxman 509u vs Moon 700i
Melbguy1, thanks for the reply. It seems I too have exaggerated when talking about the Accuphase prices (not deliberately of course). At least in Benelux, Accuphase prices increase every year with 10-12%. For example, in december 2009 my E-550 int...
Accuphase E-460 vs Luxman 509u vs Moon 700i
Disclaimer, I am very found of Accuphase :).Melbguy1, I am a bit surprised to read your comments about Simuaudio vs. Accuphase. My experience is that it is very hard to really moped the floors with an Accuphase, especially when comparing "mass mar...
Are the JL Fathom subs really that good....
Bryon, it might be helpful to explain what you mean by transient response.Lyngdorf systems (most probably also TACT ones) that have the room correction module do exactly what you have described under point 3 in your post. Thus, what follows is bas...
