Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today
@deludedaudiophile OK, well that is reasonable and possibly (probably ?) quite sufficient for most home systems, if it is copper. But that would provide no cause for superlatives, for reasons. edit - I just calculated resistance on my 3 metre (c...
Well I joined the Silversmith FIDELIUM Speaker cable club today
Looking at the picture supplied above of the cable, it is a bit tricky to even guess the gauge (AWG) of the cable. Does anyone know what the gauge of a single cable is? edit - I now see the quote above about being a thousandth of an inch thick. ...
Tuner choice
It’s tough to disentangle the specs and prices without being an electrical engineer. There exist some guides for us mortals as to what specs to think about. I consulted one or two a few years ago, google is your friend. Takes some patience. Th...
Tuner choice
eBay have a number of Magnum Dynalab tuners, of course. I don’t pretend to know the specifics of each model (I covet a MD90T), but the FT-101’s seem to be priced at around USD700 or so. One I looked at is from a dealer so lab checked and good to ...
Audiophiles on Audiogon.
I would suggested that you haven’t been here long enough to know what’s up or down or anything about anyone here. On the contrary, the OP seems to have things figured out and knows perfectly well that what he shares is challenging to audiophile...
Ripping CD Optimally
Audio format - best to preserve CD quality and keep the maximum AQ (audio quality, I hope?) is WAV. For a discussion on the relative merits of WAV and FLAC, see this short explanation - its reasonably non -technical and covers most bases sufficie...
Led Zeppelin 11
Dunno why Jimmy hasn’t released it on CD. I’d speculate that this must have been addressed by him at some point - the elephant in the room, kinda thing. I don’t pretend to know much about master tapes - but there must be two - the RL one and also...
recommended speaker cables and interconnects
Cables are very subjective and that is OK.  Some people are also subjective in their opinions and that, too, is OK. Other people are objective.
OCD audio guy naming shady Audiogon dealers by name
@jerryg123 He did not name or callout anyone other than this site. Well that’s a good start. As if that’s news to anyone, perhaps with the exception of newbies.
Why should audiophile deniers be allowed on an audiophile forum?
@tylermunns Everybody’s in favor of free speech until that speech runs contrary to their personal beliefs.  It doesn’t work that way. Quite so.  Criticism - made in good faith, perhaps with a splash of humour, and to the best of one's abilities...
Thinking Hybrid Integrated.
Got a note from him today about how he’s missing it while he waits for the MA352 he has on order. No he isn't.  Anything else would be a very sad and perhaps a cry for help.
Burn in after repair?
@deludedaudiophile This place just keeps getting more is bizarre. Fixed

And you can’t plug a Porsche into a wall socket to deliver power to an amplifier. Idiotic, childish, simplistic, and ill informed Any car may be plugged into some pretty fancy tech analyser equipment to assess its performance and tuning charact...
Favorite religious song
@uncledemp Do some of you read the question as it’s posted? I didn’t read this to understand your feelings.  What question would it be that you refer to?  Anyway... I do love Pete Fountain's " A Closer Walk With Thee"
Fuse Direction for Pass Labs Amp and Preamp
In the educational information about purple fuses, Ted does say something about its mind bending properties. I’ll let that one go through to the wicket keeper.
