Plant/Krauss Tour
@russ69 Plant is an interpretive singer with his own style. That's why he was so good in LZ. Quite so. In a joint interview with Alison in a UK publication discussing their recent collaboration he said it was really hard. Along the lines of th...
Plant/Krauss Tour
A couple months ago I watched a one on one chat with Plant and Brian Johnson, he of AC/DC. Perhaps BBC, or maybe not. Dunno. Filmed a couple years ago in the area where the footage of Plant’s visual from The Song Remains The Same was filmed. It w...
Dumbest cable question
Cables and fuses are directional because they have a hot end and a cold end. This is similar to the Sun, which has a hot side and a cold side and this causes winter and summer as the Earth circles around it.

Graphene comes very close to closing the gap There's a gap?  Please educate the community about this gap.
Sharing my experience with cables
What is an "objective opinion"?  Is it a "fact"? Why not say fact? I could've said any number of words, none of which would have been as precise as the ones that I did.

Someone with a lot less more money than you would say it's totally crazy to buy Starbucks when they can make instant coffee at home.  Corrected. That's an objective opinion.

That must have been exciting! in an otherwise dull day of fiddling!
Albums you do not get...a plea for help and understanding
I like Dylan.  When covered by another artist/band.  I know, that's bad of me, isn't it.

How does cable construction affect sonic character?
Its only miraculous if you deny that an application of well understood mathmatical principles is responsible for achieving what believers applaud. This is possibly not something those who have been reading audio reviews (perhaps for decades) have...
Why are people paying these stupid tube prices?
@mulveling  it is a prevalent pattern to see folks rolling rare vintage tubes into cheap chi-fi or even cheap Schiit amps, especially headphone gear. Especially 6SN7 and 6922. It always rubbed me the wrong way too. What a waste. Quite so. In ec...
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
@deludedaudiophile I can’t help but think this discussion is softly approaching something of a eugenics direction - which has some historical significance in the development of some exceptionally significant mathematical and statistical methods. ...
objective vs. subjective rabbit hole
Of course gradually less and less people will be able to contribute in meaningful ways to society as AI becomes more capable. Define capable. The prior paragraph does not support anything, it only asserts, or speculates. Then the prior words he...
Fed rate increase = lower hifi prices?
@deludedaudiophile I concede there are other aspects on the demand side unique to hifi without going into details. Plenty. What you are thinking about is actually different markets. That's a significant aspect. Except to point out that elasticit...
Fed rate increase = lower hifi prices?
@headphonedreams I just looked at speakers and many brands have increased or is increasing their prices with 20-40% ! I have a distinct feeling these new prices will not go down much the next 2 years. At a basic level, input prices have increas...
