Building second system around Harbeth P3 esr
The Croft will be perfect. Rolling in some Telefunkens will bring it to a new level.
Your worst gaffes
Trowing away a Garrard 301 as junk and selling a 401 for $75 when I didn't know any better many years ago.
The most transparent speaker cable
eniac26 is almost right. I posted some time ago about UP-OCC copper solid core teflon wire. Let me dig out the post...Here it is: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/up-occ-solid-core-copper-for-speaker-cable
Vocals and upper midrange too forward?
Try swapping your speaker cables for ordinary 14 gauge romex NM-B mains cable. Nothing to lose. You might be surprised.
Help me choosing an Integrated Amp
Congrats. Let us know how they work out with *your* system.
linn lp 12 parts
That is most unfortunate. Sorry to hear that. Scum are everywhere. LP12 is pretty fussy about how it is set up. I cannot imagine the state it is in. Is there a Linn dealer you can reach out to?
Tube Amp vs Solid State Amp HELP

Reliabilty, Keeping Equipment Powered on or off?
Do /you/ notice a difference in sound quality if they are left on? I would leave them off. I assume the DAC and CD have standby modes.
Your single favorite component
My Magic Eraser.
Synergistic Red Fuse ...

REM Green... over overdubbed and layered into oblivion.
Manly Steelhead - any downside??
6 moons review online comparing Steelhead with Tom Evans Audio Design Groove+ makes an interesting read. The jist of it that the TEAD blows the SH away.
Phono pre - need advise
Not sure why you are running 2 tables.Anyway, the Cambridge Azur 651p should work.
New Transformer on the Pole
New connections over old corroded ones.
Pioneer s1 ex dilemma
Golly, they are expensive. Stereophile likes them. Your source and amp aren't really up to the job, I guess. You already know that though.
