Help deciding which TT
It is acoustic feedback from the sub into the turntable body...bearing...platter...stylus. Put a slab of granite under the TT on the wall shelf.

I bet they don't drop the titanium ones. ;-)

Huh? Who drops their tonearm wand on the floor? That is nuts!

TVA1. I wish I could drop it on Paravicini's head. All 90+ pounds of it.
Tube upgrade options for Dodge 8 preamplifier?
To answer your question about the RCA tubes. Obviously, there are many variations. I have found them okay but flawed. They seem a little constricted. If they were a wine, they'd be Malbec.

Looking for pre with 2 volume controls.
I've used Croft Acoustics preamps since 1987 with the two volume knobs. I guess the logic is a cleaner signal path by giving up the balance pot.I have no problem using them.

Audio Research PH6 Phono Stage - How is it?
One thing to keep in mind is ease of tube rolling. Very often, changing out generic new tubes with high quality old tubes can lift the performance of an amp and even change the way the amp sounds.
Townshend Rock, or Sota... Classical music
I would imagine it is aligned by design while mounted in the Rock. It is a little odd for sure.
ortofon 2m bronze vs rega Exact 2 cartridge
You might consider changing the Kimber cable to some PCOCC solid core. You will notice a purer sound, better focus and less "noise".
ortofon 2m bronze vs rega Exact 2 cartridge
Fly in the ointment here. I prefer the Bronze over the Black. It sounds more alive while the Black sounds more closed in and darker. Both were new so maybe the Black need to open up. I would go with the Bronze, tweak the VTA and see how it goes.

Rock Reference. In a few years' time, you won't notice the extra expendature and you'll have a great turntable. It will even make a cheaper cartridge sound good so you can save there until you are ready. I heard one with ATC speakers and EICO HF60...
Disturbing "Sonic Trend" showing up on SOTA audio
I feel you are giving vintage gear a tough time. I use some vintage gear and can assure you that it has all the air, attack, timbral color, and transparency you could ask for.
