You might look at the Vanatoo Transparent One Encore powered speakers for $600. I’ve heard them at AXPONA and was impressed. Stereophile reviewed them this month’s issue and likd them. It would save amps and wires etc and may do the job. They soun...
Tone, Tone, Tone !
Speaking of polypropylene and plastics, it never ceases to bewilder me how the thin mylar membrane in my Quad ESLs can sound like a brass cymbal or a wooden xylophone.

New cap recommendation for power amp please
What amp make and model? What component specifically? Do you have the schematic? Did you check the capacitance value of the original and match it with the replacement? Did you let the Jensens break in?
Strange turntable/speaker issue
All very interesting and one for the books. Have you tried removing the turntable lid, at least when playing?

Arm interconnects choice???
I’ve only use the Jelco JAC501 for my tonearms. It’s inexpensive and it sounds very good. It’s neutral, transparent and extremely revealing to the tiniest of system changes. I have tried others that were nearly 3x the price and this was far better...
Perfect Path Tecnologies ‘The Gate’

Audiosilente idler wheel versus Artisan Fidelity idler wheel for a Garraed 401
If you know how to take the motor apart to lube the lower bearing, it can’t hurt having a replacement bearing on hand. If the table is used and new to you, figure on doing the above as a matter of essential maintenance. The most difficult and real...
Audiosilente idler wheel versus Artisan Fidelity idler wheel for a Garraed 401
If the idler wheel is normally say 2" in diameter, and there is no allowance for the idler to move closer to the platter if it is reduced in diameter by say one millimeter, it will exert less force on the inner platter contact point. What effect do...
Audiosilente idler wheel versus Artisan Fidelity idler wheel for a Garraed 401
The AF idler is currently sold out. I had to wait 4 months or so IIRC when I bought mine. OP, get the AS, you won’t be disappointed.
Audiosilente idler wheel versus Artisan Fidelity idler wheel for a Garraed 401
Notwithstanding, the primary objective is to see if it sounds better. It does for me, so I'm not too concerned. Thanks Lew.
