@fsonicsmith Lovely system. @kanchi647 The Precision Audio Components platter is aluminum from CTC.https://www.classichifi-shop.co.uk/product/aluminium-platter-20mm-over-sized-satin-black-finish/The SPH grease bearing is from sphBearing@gmail.com....
Low hum from amp
If not the speakers, probably just transformer hum caused by dirty power or poor mounting of the part. Try another outlet.

I second @fsonicsmith comment about refurbishment. A full strip down and rebuild is the way to go. check out Matt Taylor of AudioGrail. On the slate vs wood... while I have 401s not 301s, my experience may be helpful. I found the slate to have a l...

@kanchi647 I have two Jim Campbell plinths. Slate and birch-ply. Both AudioGrail 401 tables. One early twin spark, the other later. Look at my system in my profile. Go with 12" tonearms. Make sure you replace the idler with an AudioSilente one and...

Need advice- installing expensive Atmos system in Florida
You mean an 11.2 Dolby Atmos Klipsch setup? Is that really what you want? So many speakers. Yeah, I think it will be okay for movies but might be too much without room treatments.
Mundorf M-Tube in Tube Amplifier Power Supply
I use CC TC600 in phono preamp power supply. I agree with everything you say. The odd thing was the plastic coloration seemed to disappear after about 25 hours. Nice system by the way. Sounds great.
Jelco SA-750D cartridges
@minkwelder George Merrill has the best price on Jelco. Make sure you use the JAC501 (red) phono cable not the cheaper one. Search for my post on the 850. Read full thread.
Jelco SA-750D cartridges
@minkwelder I've two 750 arms and a 850S and 850L on two different tables. The 850 is in the next echelon. I think you should replace it first. Then explore cartridges. It's a direct swap.
Jelco SA-750D cartridges
A $400 cartridge in a Jelco 850 will sound better than a $1000+ cartridge in a 750.
Acoustic Design Works
Dunno. But you could start with a box of these
I'm interested in hearing what "the best" systems sound like, where to go?
When the guy replied $1 MILLION he replied that's not too bad. Got to be Fremer!
Fav Tube/Best tube
I’ve tried hundreds of tubes. The best 12AX7 is the Shuguang 12AX7LS black from Grant Fidelity at $149 a pair. 20 hour burn in needed.
