Would appreciate a group consensus on Agon purchased amps
+1 waltersalas.  PS  Hopefully the OP did not just order cheapo cables!
Change it or Defend it, where is your stereo at?
Happy with system(s). I do wish I had a better space than the basement. But it sounds so much better on concrete. Some day.

Best to meter out the connections from disconnected cartridge pins to RCA plugs.
Toolshed Amps 300b Stereo Amp
Nice read on PTA.  I enjoyed this in particular: >> "What I hear is what I might describe as “fast bloom.” Have you ever seen one of those time-lapsed videos of a flower bud transcending into a full-on blossom? Think that, but speed it up ...

It could only have been that if you think about it! Dump the arm, the LP12 deserves better. It was the internal wiring of the tonearm

If you have a separate ground wire from the Linn to the phono preamp, try removing it. The Rega arm has a strapped ground in the left channel and a separate ground causes a ground loop.
Tired of all the gimmicky pricing, i.e. $999.99 or $927
Anything .95 or .99 is pathetic. What would enlightened folks from the future think about pricing something for $3999 in the hopes of fooling the customer's mind that it isn't four big ones?

Looking for a cartridge upgrade
I've not heard the Kleos in a Linn, only a in the direct drive VPI. It has a great reputation. The top Dynavectors might also work. Why not try a inexpensive Audio Technica VM760SLC as an experiment to get a benchmark on something different. You m...

Lyra Delos for more dynamics in the same ballpark? Next step up, if you have a dealer to assist set up, Linn Kandid for more of everything the Krystal has.

@tomic601  Jim, I'm sure it sounds amazing! Agree with the general consensus that you can have lots of detail, as long as it's not ear-searingly bright. i don’t think my reference system gives up much detail in service of the music
Why People Like Tekton
You might be surprised. Fast attack time of Decca and Quad ESL57s is not cloth eared mellow! 😉
Why People Like Tekton
@tomic601 Respectfully, I disagree that "hyper detail" is distortion. Low noise floor,  responsive electronics, and light diaphragms help.  none hyper detailed as that leading edge exaggeration is distortion…
Speaker placement
With 23 feet to play with, you’ve got to be able to find another 12-24". Considering that John Atkinson found the Impact Monitor and Enzo to have lower sensitivity, I’d bet the Lore is not 98dB. "My estimate of the Impact’s sensitivity was 87.5d...
OCC cables anyone?
