How far from the back wall are your speakers?
The backs of my speakers are 6 1/2" from the front wall which makes the front of the speakers 23" from the front wall. Having a smallish room (10' X15') precludes optimum placement yet I still get pretty good sound. All the best,Nonoise
Can a tiny silver bowl affect music reproduction
Clever.
Need advice on rich sounding cables
Has anyone tried curling up some C-notes to use as a dielectric sheath?
Has anybody tried using single solid core cables?
Also, coherence, which there is not a lot of nowadays. Most folk confuse some added body (think thickening, like roux) to the music and are willing to sacrifice detail and clarity for it.
What does "voiced" mean to you?
Yes, it's what Brf said and what Atmasphere punctuated so wittingly. When a designer stays true to how he voices his speakers you get what they call that 'house sound'.All the best,Nonoise
Review: Amadi Maddie Signature Interconnect
Grannyring, Considering that I have the Tempo Electric Speaker Cables and use the Darwin Silver ICs, have you compared the Amadi ICs to the Darwins ICs? I only ask this as what you describe you hear with the Amadi ICs is what I'd describe I hear w...
Can a tiny silver bowl affect music reproduction
When I attended the second to last Newport Audio show, one of the larger demo rooms had the Tchang acoustic bowls all over the place. There were some on the wall behind the speakers, on the equipment in the middle and right in front of the speaker...
Review: Amadi Maddie Signature Interconnect
Grannyring, Glad to hear you're enjoying your silver anniversary, so to speak. I'm enjoying mine as well since I've gone all silver with my cabling as well. What you're experiencing is similar to what I'm going through, though with a different bra...
Tempo Electric speaker cables
One thing I overlooked until just now was the slat openings on the back of may Tonian Labs TL-D1s. I had adjusted them earlier for the Mapleshades and was floored by the increased stage presence and the lessening of that warm, enveloping feeling t...
Mapleshade Single VS Double Helix Speaker Cable
The Double Helix is a big step up from their standard speaker cable. Keep in mind that connectors impart their own sound on the cable and it's not a consistent sound at that. It varies. It's what drives most folk mad.All the best,Nonoise
help me decide speakers for two channel audio
You'll get a lot of great advice but buying speakers without an audition is the crap shoot to end all crap shoots. All the best,Nonoise
Anti-Cables speaker cable impressions:
This cable quest can be a pain in the butt. After trying copper ICs and SCs, I settled on silver cables. They are better conductors than copper since they don't oxidize like copper so bare ends (the best way to go) can be used with speaker cables....
I don't get it
Desingers, no matter how talented, can be of a certain mindset and nothing will sway their beliefs. Like Milpai said, try a nice sized section of tile or wood to rest the speaker when upon the carpet. It could very well be that the designer tried ...
Smooth and dark cables?
I wonder if in your room adjustments you covered the base, so to speak. What you use for footers and what your speaker rests upon can make or break the sound you get. I tamed a bright top end by ridding myself of some flagstone and use a maple but...

Ghosthouse, thanks for the kind words.
