Best DIY Bulk Power cord to buy????????????
Sorry, 83803.Cabtire works fine and is often better than stock. At least, it can be a true 14 or 12 Ga.
Best DIY Bulk Power cord to buy????????????
Belden 83808. Silver plated, 12 Ga, shielded and teflon insulated. Makes a stiff PC though.Ordered a 100' roll on the net last month for the advertized price of $255. They emailed back that the price has risen to $440 due to manufacturer's costs. ...
Pass X1 / X250 - how to get a bit foregivable ???
Nice system. You might try Van der Hul cables. Completely different philosophy and design and they're not that expensive to experiment. Not my choice but might be right for you.
RE: Outfitting AC to 220V in USA
Oops, been a while since school.
RE: Outfitting AC to 220V in USA
There are rare pieces of audio gear that don't like split phase. Most have no compatibilty issues and European gear would be even less likely to have problems than American because of international standards. All electric stoves and dryers use 240V...

This should be controversial....hearing tests...
I have to have my ears tested every year. They turned out to be only 10 carat gold plated. I blame the stereo for causing my hearing loss and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Full-range Floorstanders: Can you recommend?
Although I like the Coincidents, it's 14 ohms is better suited for tubes. The Energy Veritas is very nice too and will be much more musical than current speakers.I'm sure someone here will suggest Vandys but have you ever heard VMPS RM40's?
XLR or single ended cables and why?
In my limited experience, I tend to agree with balanced cables for balanced electronics. Krell states that both components you have are balanced. Nothing to get excited or impatient about. Mortgage or rent, food, beer, and some good CD's come first.
Plinius SA102, single versus mono?
Thanks, but I don't write fiction.
Plinius SA102, single versus mono?
Vertical biamping with identical amps will make negligible difference unless severely underpowered in the first place. Bridging quadruples the total power and that will only increase by 6dB. Average listening is around 80dB. Vertical biamping will...
Question on Plinius Amps
That was news to me that the SA-102 has been upgraded. Probably so new that media hasn't caught up. Google for reviews on the 100 mk3, 102 and 250. The SA-103 and SA-Reference operate in class A (switchable to A/B, which I call "standby") and are ...

And that's why I don't read any audio magazines anymore."I think your confusing reality and realism"The second order harmonics question was answered by the Pass Alephs and, to some degree, Plinius SA-series.

Plinius SA102, single versus mono?
I couldn't wait. Hooked up both Plinii with an extension cord out to the kitchen. The extension cord fed an industrial 5KVA transformer, supplying balanced AC to the SA100's. Other gear included a Talk Electronics Thunder 3.1B CDP and a DIY TVC pa...
