Not sure MTV was he boogey man. Several excellent bands, in my opinion, thrived during those years. REM, Dire Straits, U2.I'm also not sure I agree with the premise that artists can't make a living. I don't think anything has changed substantially...

Steely Dan - Two Against NatureProbably the best produced CD I've heard so far....if you're into the very 'produced' sound....which I usually am. Everything sounds very intentional and purposeful. Bass is fantastically tight and precise.
