50 years on---the brilliance of The Band and their astounding debut album.
slaw, my comments based on current contemporary music pressings are based on dynamic range recordings, not my opinion, taste in music or ability to differentiate SQ. So it has nothing to do with my equipment, level of experience or price aversion....

slaw and bdp24, I confused about the 'brown' LP. That's the second album right? If that is the case then album I paid $30 for was MFBP not the second album. The second album I'm more familiar with.I've heard MFBP before but its been a while. Never ...

Wandered into a used record store today. I'm not into vinyl and hope not to get into it any further than I am. I was just thumbing through the albums when I came upon Music from Big Pink. I've always liked The Band and love the movie The Last Walt...
Spotify vs. Apple Music vs. Google Play vs. Tidal: Which is Best
Lack of a simple easy (on your cell phone) remote is a deal breaker for Tidal. That and the poor user interface. When they get those things fixed I'll subscribe.
Cover songs that are better than the originals.
I heard the original of "Sea of Love" (Phil Phillips) today on a juke box. I like the Honey Dripper's (Robert Plant) better but it is a really a toss up.
What is the Best LP Cover Art for you Wall
blueranger, you beat me to it. My mom had that album when I was a kid....never listened to the music but was intrigued by the cover. When I saw the title of this thread that cover immediately popped into my mind.
The best music in 2018
The Struts- If you think rock is dead check out this band. Guitar heavy glam pop with a lead man with real personality and charisma. Everybody Wants has been out for a year or so. Young and Dangerous comes out next week and I heard most of it at t...

How can anyone want more......Just a very happy listener.
There are also people who just like equipment. That want to have, hold, look at and admire high quality gear regardless if it is hi-fi, guns, cameras, you name it. And often these same folks don't ever use this gear to the potential it was designe...
BEST MALE VOCAL EVER
Here is a vote for Van Morrison too but his field was really too narrow to vie for best ever.
BEST MALE VOCAL EVER
Freddie Mercury. He did rock/pop to perfection. No one did it 'bigger'. He could have sung opera. Anything really. Personally think he is head and shoulders above all the restPaul Rodgers is up there in my opinion because he can still do it.Robert...

mrdecibel, a lot of people would consider what you spent on your system to be an obscene amount. That's where the argument gets kind of circular. I personally would never spend the kind of money you spent and would never have purchased the system ...
The current best band in the world?
I like Tedeschi Trucks too. A lot. First album at least. Second album left me a little cold. Class act. But again, probably not the "current best band in the world". Just a great new band.
