jolida, cairn, music hall One speed, (track?), a serious Jolida reviewer could not come up with a statement about the 100 as accurate as yours. It sounds to me the Jolida is just the player you are looking for. I have mine augmenting 20k of solid state, and I can vouch for...
Any hi-end Aussie speakers or electronics? DO NOT miss the Perigee by Graeme Keet. http://www.perigee.com.au/Graeme Keet (Graz) will soon be known as the finest speaker builder extant IMO. With his speakers in tow, Graz made an impromptu visit to reviewer Ken Kessler, whose own speakers, t...
Classe "omega" vs Pass Labs X600 Rcrump, the principal designer of the Parasound JC-1? Don't be so modest.
Jolida JD100 CD player problems -- No Power The standby/on feature only works through the remote.
Audio Artistry Beethoven - heard it? Thank you for your responses. I agree with all of you, but one thing, Albertporter. The Scintilla is, compared to the Quad 63, the better of the two, IMO.
Cary 308 or Njoe Tjoeb 4000? I have heard neither, but I just have to wonder why you would be considering an aftermarket redo versus a ground up player. The Cary is a real tube out put player, whereas the Ah! player is not. Now I will continue to confuse you, like Peter by se...
Pass X-150 There are no rules that apply to amp design. If one looks at the Pass X-150, you will see all connector locations are well thought out. Nelson Pass is not going to spend years on circuit signal purification, and then mess it up with neglecting som...
Pass X-150 Odd, I used both banana and spades on my X-150. The power cord receptor was several inches to the left, not directly above. All connectors were gold plated and sturdy. Perhaps the garden hose cable manufacturer is at fault here. You don't see thos...
Jolida reliability? Anyone with comments? I owned a Jolida 1000 for a couple of years, and had no problems.
Krell KRC-3 vs. Pass Aleph P I have the Aleph P, and like it very much. It's variable gain feature is great for dealing with different music selections. The Aleph P is entirely unoffensive, remaining invisible even when using appropriate gain.
Electrostatic Speakers OOps, Darn, don't you wish we had the ability to delete our own posts. I've wanted to do that from time to time, and I am sure others have wanted me to do that.... Thanks Detlof. :)
Electrostatic Speakers Phasecorrect, "Arcing?" "Anemic bass," you got to be kidding. One of the great sonic successes of the big Apogees are their deep bass that play seamlessly with the mids and highs. For realistic acoustic bass, there is no better. Certainly, certain...
Electrostatic Speakers I'm a fan of Apogee, the cheap treats. The only criticism I agree with above is the hidden amp cost. The speakers are so cheap, though, what does it matter?
Best high current SS Mono amps I'm using the X-600 monoblocks on my 1 ohm speakers. I have a large room, and I like it loud at times. I cannot imagine better monos. I have run all tubes, and have had no trouble switching to Pass X amps, and pre amps. They are perfectly invisabl...
What's up with Joida stuffs from Hongkong? The Jolida uses the same transport as CDPs costing three times more, and is not likely to skip any more than they. I am amazed the Jolida company would let this profit hemorrhage go UNCHECKED. |
