'they blew'em off the stage' Led Zepplin's debut(in the States) blew away Spirit(I think it was the Filmore West.). Lonnie Mack blew away Edgar Winter at the Filmore West. Grateful Dead blew away the Band-New Year's Eve at the Civic Auditorium in S.F.
Audio Racks & Equipment Support Great! The Adona people seem pretty knowledgeable, and they were very easy to talk to. I think you did the right thing. The odds of getting a rack to hold your equipment(with no claims of audible improvement)and tweaking it out weren't very good. ...
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend? You could put a mystery bag(but then it would affect the sound)over this, and charge $150/set(3 of course)and not feel guilty. In my current setup, this opened up a window on the midrange-with voices to die for. On my Nuforce amps, I put an Eagles...
Audio Racks & Equipment Support I forgot to mention Steve Blinn Designs racks, which have had a favorable review, and are sold here on Audiogon. I use various tweeks-Adona small brass cones(bottom of rack, and upside down with inserts[for stability]on my Lehmann Black Cube), Iso...
Audio Racks & Equipment Support I just went through a similiar process at a lower price range. I ended up with a Cambre Timber 4-shelf rack for $310 shipped. I missed out on used Samson racks($400+ and a beautiful one at $800). Actually, I purposely skipped the lower priced one ...
Review of Cambre timbre rack EdenSound has a myrtle rack(with solid brass rods, I believe)for sale in the high $300's. Shipping is probably extra. They advertise this on Audiogon from time to time, but I think it is always in stock.
Do I need a power cable - if so what brand? Almarg, as you probably realize, I'm not very knowledgeable about electronics. I do know that one cannot just use theory without the practical. For instance, before people could measure conductivity, they may have preferred silver over copper, and...
Review of Cambre timbre rack I forgot to mention a few things. This rack is easy to assemble(I was not in a hurry.). The spacing between shelves is 9 inches. The shelves are beveled(for sound reasons). I did not try out cd yet, because I'm trying to keep my system the system ...
Do I need a power cable - if so what brand? Almarg, is it possible that a power cord can act like an antenna? Remember that we used to use wire inside a plastic covering to pick up radio signals for our tuner.
Anti-skate I want to point out that when you get very close to the proper anti-skate(and probably VTA, VTF, etc.), you kind of have to throw rules out the window. For instance, I thought that on my Simon and Garfunkle, "The Complete Collection", that the las...
Keces da-131, any reviews or thoughts? I use Valab's solid-silver interconnect, and don't feel a need to change it-even though it sits among Oritek X-2 and APL solid-silver MKIV interconnects. Oritek's DAC is a little over $400(if you can get it), and we've used it at recent BAAS events.
The best CD Player for the money Fdcliff, which dumpster was that? I might need some spare parts.
Time to change. But to what? That's too bad it's not an option, Audphile1, because it really opened things up. I first tried one in the corner behind my listening position, but right behind me(wall/ceiling junction) was much better. It's really suprising how something that th...
Anyone find the Linn Lingo too fast? Thanks for all the information, and, in my case, Kirkus's placement of power cord in this discussion. While I haven't yet done a speedchecker, I've had some success in tweaking(by ear-who the hell invented 4 feet?!)my Mana Reference table(anyone c...
Time to change. But to what? Audphile 1, I just discovered this today. I have a number of acoustic products, and I just put one 8th nerve rectangle behind my seating position. It definitely increased resolution, so it might help your listening at lower volume levels. |
