Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Hi Victor, thank you for your concern with providing us the most complete information you can. I know your posts here are much appreciated, but please don't sweat the website. Building a website is like painting the Golden Gate Bridge...once you f...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Thanks Stltrains and others for the comments. I believe Victor is going to send a pair of the Dimension IC cables for me to try when I audition the TP2.1 preamp. I will be comparing them against my Purist Aqueous Anniversary cables in the position...
Audio Horizons TP 2.0 Preamplifier
Can any of you guys enlighten me on the basic sonic signature of the four levels of AH cables available (Concept, Harmony, Transparency and Dimension), and whether the conductors in these cables copper or silver? At the AH prices, I would be most ...
Finding ultra-pure water locally...
I believe John adams sunnyvale is asking about a product that has undergone an extremely more rigorous purification process than either RO or distilled water commonly available for sale in grocery stores. The ultrapure water is likely used in spec...
Tube sound with no tubes
Spaz, you didn't tell us your speakers, but if you want a full bottom end with little to no roll-off, choose a tube pre very carefully. The Calypso's output impedance raises to about 3,500 ohms at 20hz, so even your 20K input impedance (balanced) ...
Tube sound with no tubes
Read the reviews on the Tom Evans Vibe and Pulse. Start with 6-Moons, try TAS issue 153, and if you can ck the HiFi+ reviews where it is mentioned in at least two issues. It certainly is not tubes, but it may be near the top for getting close with...
Your First Concert was.....
Aerosmith, spring 1974, just after release of Get Your Wings. Precluded by free Grand Funk Railroad concerts at Riverside Park.
Build my own speakers?
Here is another choice. These guys will facilitate a variety of DIY speaker design/build projects. I agree with the others here, you should let an experienced professional create the design, and match drivers to the crossovers. However, you could ...
Life after Aerial 10Ts...
If you like the Aerial sound, which it sounds like you do, at least listen to the 9's. From the posts above, it sounds like you might also listen to some others, and the Usher's might be a good value.
Best sounding CD Player for $3K or less used?
This thread seems to have morphed from "Best sounding CD Player for $3K or less used" to "best analogue sounding CD player...." Regardless, I am surprised not to see the Lector CDP 7T mentioned yet, which typically goes for below $3K used. Both th...
Stereophile or Absolute Sound
I agree with Kurt, HiFi+ is my favorite. I do like the measurements in Stereophile, but otherwise generally prefer reading TAS.
crass to ask for feedback after a transaction?
Although I agree with Tvad and Reubent, I think their recommendation would be more important if you only had 1 or 2 feedbacks. If I were considering a trade with you, I would look at your 7 positive feedbacks, all with very positive comments left ...
Be nice to nOobs
Hi David, as others mentioned, no response is just plain rude, and that has not been my experience here. Sometimes you will see the seller finally get around to marking the item "sold" shortly after you e-mail them, which might indicate he had alr...
Treating High Humidity in basement
Hi Audioquest4life, I just thought of a question; since you have floor heat, is there any provision for return air. In houses with forced air heat, there are return air vents. When the forced air pressurizes the room, air flows out through the ret...
sound quality from CD to CD
The Lector is about as sweet as it gets at its price point. It also has very good bass, midbass, and a midrange richness that can counteract the negative effects of bad recordings. However, it is a high quality player and also resolving, so if it ...
