Silk thread drive, using fabric glue to join ends.
Making belts like that was one my early trials way back around 30 years ago. Back then it was a Basis turnable and motor. Tried different threads in place of the Basis belt. Experiments like these gave me the confidence to try the Teres motor, eve...

Help Match Cables To Gear Please
Study and learn: https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/8367  Notice: really high end interconnects and speaker cables, pretty good power cords, el cheapo wire to the subs. Because I have tried better wire in different places over the years, and thi...
good discussion on power cords
Had a party at my place one time. Half a dozen audiophiles, half a dozen Porschephiles, another half a dozen friends from work. One of the audiophiles was Shunyata CEO Caelin Gabriel.   Caelin brought along a few of his newest power cords. With eve...
Too good a post to waste
What he's saying is he's a lousy listener. What he's saying is the only way he notices any difference is if he's broken a wire. Which he does not consider unusual. So he's also saying spaz, or using really old poorly made crap. Take your pick.

Does high end system with dedicated circuits need grounding products
I have cryogenically treated and TC coated 4 ga wire bring 240V to a step down, then 120V to my conditioner. So the system is transformer isolated, with its own earth ground connected to a grounding block on the conditioner. https://systems.audiog...
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles?
I think its because at some point beyond one line its officially reclassified rant.
Should people who can't solder, build or test their speakers be considered audiophiles?
Should people who can't write be considered posters?
Which is the most important part of a stereo system?
Which is the most important part of a stereo system? There isn't one. As long as there is an audiophile around to argue about it nothing else matters.
newbie seeks help with system design
Being a newbie probably should explain, according to what I found the cartridge that came on that table had an output of 2.2mV which should be fine with the MM Pro-Ject Phono Box DC phono stage you mentioned. Basically any MM stage should be fine....
