Left and right subwoofers with integrated
Tim is of course absolutely correct. This is something I was able to confirm by running my DBA both ways, stereo and mono. Makes no difference because even connected to L and R channels the signal is the same. Nevertheless, it sure does sound like...
What's going on with Synergistic Research fuses?
😂😂😂 Where's the crybaby emoji when you need it?
What's going on with Synergistic Research fuses?
Of course they are. Which you would know if you followed my posts. Oh well. Only a few thousand of them worth reading.  First of all, main thing, you noticed it does indeed sound better. Question is, Why? Which if we knew that then why would we ne...
Left and right subwoofers with integrated
No advantage. Doesn't matter. All the bass the subs get is mono anyway so it really does not matter if you split one channel to two subs, run one channel to each, or whatever. No difference. So use whatever is easiest/cheapest with whatever wire y...
Am I asking too much?
@millercarbon -  lol, love the passion! I set up my current cartridge with a borrowed Dr. Feichert, but that was a$450 Hana EL - much lower stakes.  Happy to do it again, but do believe a local dealer would want to nurture a relationship.   Dr...
Whats a good economical way to test the electricity on a circuit?
Hasn't heard Michael Fremer say ONE dedicated line, and then explain how audiophiles used to believe you needed more, "which is a really stupid idea" (his words not mine!).   Like I said, its not that you can't measure the noise, its that its a wa...

What do you think of this power cord?
One thing I should tell you is that my house was built in the mid-50’s and had the two prong outlets without the opening for the ground.  When an electrician was doing some other work, I asked him about getting grounding receptacles in place o...

New to 2.2 Stereo...Pointers?
Makes no difference how you hook them up. High level, RCA, no difference.  What you heard: Bass sounds were level and tight where as before with the one sub sometimes some notes were louder than others. Also the depth and layering of the sound s...
Am I asking too much?
Audiophiles. Can't tell the difference between disgust and anger. Have infinite patience while being ripped off. But quibble endlessly over minutia like how many degrees of separation there are between a character and Kevin Bacon. Maybe some audio...
D'agostino amplifiers: where's the beef?
I'd rather have an old Krell and a new Porsche Boxster or C8 Corvette for the same money. Only one of those is worth any money at all.
500 albums in a basement flood--worth saving?
No such thing as relatively clean flood water. What you will find, huge amount of grit got in there. No record cleaners on the market are designed to clean records that have fine grit caked on from being soaked in sludge. The problem is being cove...
Whats a good economical way to test the electricity on a circuit?
Here's what is going on, as best I can understand it. Which is way better than most. No one else here even comes close to having done as much or as many different things to improve power to their system. Challenge! This is only the tip of the iceb...
Battery backup copes with musical transients
chowkwan, I was expecting you to say it sounds better on the battery. It will, if you are able to switch it to be cut off from AC when you are listening. In one of the early versions of my turntable the motor was battery powered. The battery charg...
