How good can it get, really? - my stereo sounds amazing!
My suggestion is, enjoy your setup. Stop reading stereo magazines, which are designed to make you want stuff. Stop reading audio bulletin boards, which can cause fear and doubt. Just enjoy the music, and count your money! When you stop enjoying it,...
Been asked before but... One sub or two?
+1 to @jl35
Which balanced IC between pre amp and power amp?
Pro audio shops will make up cables to your order from excellent materials at a reasonable price. In my best system, I use balanced cables made by ProAudioLA from Mogami W2549 and gold-plated Neutrik connections. I think a 25’ pair, some years ago...
Point of diminishing return for a DAC
I think anywhere past $2500 has diminishing returns. Plus, in order to realize the benefits of ”more” in a DAC, you need to keep spending on other stuff first, then you’re on the audiofool merry go around. I pretty much agree with @ianrmack on t...
Recommendations for a good audiophile digital coax (BNC-BNC) 50 ohm cable?
Oh, I see the Mutec has both 75-ohm and 50-ohm outputs; I’d guess the K1 has a 50-ohm circuit, so Mutec suggests you match it.If you bought one of these Amphenol cables (almost free) you would at least have a baseline for assessing the boutique on...
Recommendations for a good audiophile digital coax (BNC-BNC) 50 ohm cable?
Most wordclock connections I’ve seen specify a 75-ohm cable. I don’t know if that’s the case for your gear, but 50-ohm connections typically are used for circuits carrying considerable power. May be worth a check to make sure you get the right cab...
All in one solution for bedroom system. Suggestions from all appreciated.
I'll second the recommendation of the Nuprime IDA series. I have an IDA-8 and think it's a remarkable bargain. Perfect for a small or all-in-one system.
dedicated line=holes in the drywall?
First time I had it done, it went through our crawl space and up into the audio room. No extra holes. Next time, the electrician came out, looked at the job (second floor room, panel in the basement) and couldn’t figure out how to do it without ru...
Is it a good idea to buy CD players over 10 years old even it is a reliable brand?
Opinions vary. I would not; there's too much chance of mechanical failure.
Lets see your listening room dimensions.
Mine is more compromised than yours: 20 x 12.5 x 7 ft. I agree, a bigger room is worth more than tens of thousands in gear. A high ceiling makes a huge difference! After I put a lot of care into treatment and positioning, the sound in my room is qu...
Recommendation for an audiophile speaker cord that is not "bright"?
If you don't mind being anti-audiophile, I've tried the very reasonable speaker cables sold by Blue Jeans Cable and found them pretty uncolored. Technically (in terms of resistance, inductance, and capacitance), the Belden wire they use for them i...
Recommendation for an audiophile speaker cord that is not "bright"?
Kimber 8TC should do the job for you.Anticables were mentioned. I tried them and found them bright; and others have, too, so I'd proceed with caution.
Does raising speaker cables off the floor really make a big difference?
Can't hear it.
What's more important in a difficult room, room correction or higher, clean, power?
Sorry, I meant to say the TacT computes at 96 kHz.
What's more important in a difficult room, room correction or higher, clean, power?
So, @mijostyn, what unit are you using that does all of that?  I would have guessed a TacT, except those compute at 24 kHz.
