$5k-$6K DACs w Roon?
The Bricasti gear I heard at AXPONA sounded just wonderful. I spent quite a bit of time in their room at the 2019 show. I think they were using their less expensive DAC. If I were buying, I'd get the streaming card installed. Plus, they are in Con...
Thoughts on Lumin T2 vs Vega G1
Can’t comment on either, as I don’t have them. I do have an Aries G1 and like it a lot, and I had an original Vega, also a great unit.Did you know that Auralic offers a very substantial trade-in discount when going from an older model to a newer? ...
JRiver Locks up Marantz NA11S1 - Replacement Options?
The G1 doesn’t support internal drives, that’s right. However, it does have the same server function as the G2, which in both units can access storage connected to the unit’s USB connector. So, a thumb drive or external USB drive can be attached t...
Speaker Cables to Power Amp - Left to Right/Right to Left; Does it matter?
Reverse your ears OR reverse the inputs! In other words, an even number of switches (inputs, outputs) will put everything the way it's meant to be; and odd number (just outputs, or ears/inputs/outputs) will flip the image.  But you knew that already.
recommend technician in los angeles area to reterminate speaker cables
Wow! It's nice to see something (potentially) work out!Let's see, a mile in LA traffic . . . about two hours?
Speaker Cables to Power Amp - Left to Right/Right to Left; Does it matter?
It will reverse the imaging -- that's all. To fix that, just reverse R and L inputs to the power amp as well.

You could try ProAudioLA. Among other things, they make custom cables for the pro audio world (and audiophiles). I've always been happy with their work. I don't know if it will save you any money, though . . . it's not a big job.
Has Digital Audio Tech Plateaued - Is It Safe To Come Out Now?
Digital can sound really good now, but it will never sound exactly like analog. IMO (1) digital is at a level where a purchase now won't be obsolete in a couple of years, and (2) a major reason to use digital is its wider selection of music. For t...
JRiver Locks up Marantz NA11S1 - Replacement Options?
I am using the Auralic Aries G1 and quite happy with it. Unless you are pairing the streamer with an Auralic DAC via their proprietary Lightning Link, you may not do better with the G2.1 than the G1. I would recommend auditioning the G1 to see wha...
Roon Nucleus repairs
The Nucleus is essentially a small computer. If it’s out of warranty and it’s just the connector, you could take it to a computer-repair shop nearby and see if they can change the connector for a new one. There may be a removable network card that...
S/PDIF-how different than an IC?
Canare makes an RCA connector intended for 75 ohm use.
Mytek - All in on Roon
It's an interesting development that raises questions. Is a Roon license included, or does it become an additional cost for the owner? If Roon isn't included, can the unit be used without a Roon license (say, via OpenHome or UPnP/DLNA)? Or is it use...
Tinnitus sufferer: is it the speakers or the 24bits/192kHz
Sometimes, mine is aggravated if there is too much high treble, above 8 kHz or so. Try turning down the tweeter of the Maggies & see if that helps.
New-ish to Audiogon Forums... Is it always like this?
Yes, it's the norm.
