Anyone try Supra LoRad 2.5 PCs? In my personal experience (although peeps might not agree?)I have gotten more dramitic results on digital and pre-amp products than amps when changing pc's. I don't know why seeing as they draw less power, just my experience... If I were in your p...
Have you heard of EMOTIVA? I think the XDA-1 DAC is one of the best budget buys in audio. For $200 you get an very good dac, remote controlled, with multiple inputs, 5 year warranty. I use it in my current main system (CJ/Nakamichi/Paradigm) and absolutely love it!
Arcam FMJ 23 vs modded Oppo I have to agree with Chazro. I have heard the cd23 and it is an absolutely awesome cdp!! In my systems, I have found it is hard to get much better sound out of a digital front end when you have something that is already good. The difference based ...
Anyone try Supra LoRad 2.5 PCs? I own this powercord. It was a pretty big improvement over any stock cord. Good clean sound, but a little bass shy. I was more impressed by the Supra speaker cables than the powercord... You will not regret upgrading your pc's. I think alot of peo...
Need a receiver for Klipsch Heresy speakers I have a buddy who runs a Heresy/Nakamichi Receiver combo that sounds awesome! (great synergy) I would strongly recommend a Nakamichi/STASIS amp as they are cheap and great sounding.
Tube Amps from China Why don't you try a tubed pre-amp? I use a Conrad Johnson PV3 with a solid-state amp and it sounds wonderful!
Experienced Jolida amp owners - Advice needed Has anyone had experience with Psvane tube amps from Grant Fidelity? The prices are very good and seem to have everything I want. (2 inputs, self-biasing, 25 watts...)
Experienced Jolida amp owners - Advice needed I listen "near-field" at medium to low volumes so I don't think the wattage will be much of an issue. It sounds like the 102 is the way to go....Thanks for the input!
Experienced Jolida amp owners - Advice needed I wanted to stay under $1,000 is possible. The Prima Luna and Cayin are just out of my reach at this time. I don't think I want to gamble on a an Ebay cheap amp either... I have read alot about the 102, seems to be a great value? i have read about...
Integrated and DAC vs Integrated with built in DAC DAC technologies change often. I would select an amp to match your speakers, then a DAC. Just my 2 cents..
Sansui 9090db vs Mcintosh 1900 I agree with Yogiboy. I live near a retired Sansui tech and he HATES working on 9090's. They are known to have a few reliability issues and I believe there were (5) versions so they are difficult to work on. The vintage Sansui sound is awesome, bu...
Inexpensive Tube Pre? I appreciate all your suggestions. I will keep an eye out for a cheap chinese unit to hold me down while I get the CJ serviced. I have a pretty good tech here in town, so I will have him update the unit with fresh caps and put a muting relay on th...
Inexpensive Tube Pre? I have thought about keeping it, but I don't like the fact it discharges DC current (I think?) when you power off. I was also a little concerned about the age of the unit. I would hate to blow my amp or speakers if not turned off in the correct or...
Inexpensive Tube Pre? Thanks all! I don't have a Jolida dealer in WI suprisingly to demo the 5t pre.. And yes Bdgregory, I did think about the tube amp thang(LOL), that would be the logical choice right? I owned a Scott 222 for a short while but departed with it becaus...
