Newbie Help Please...
The DAC I am currently using is an Emotiva XDA-1 which does not re-clock the signal. Will this defeat any chance of getting good sound?

help with a power conditioner
I Agree with Tbromgard. I used to use power conditioning(3 different brands) and then tried a NAIM audio powerstrip. (no filtering or protection) My system sounds much better and dynamic without conditioning. If you don't have bad power coming int...
Upgrading the 326BEE
I like the suggestion of the C162 pre from NAD! The 326 has a pretty good amp section, so I think the Pre will make the most difference....
Bob Carver LLC Black Beauty Review
Agee with Robert! Most people who "hate", have never owned one of his fine Signature amps or even heard them. Ignorance is abound!!
Best vintage Sansui integrated
I currently use a Sansui AU 919 and it is a wonderful amp. Very neutral and powerful, no problems driving difficult loads. I owned a Bryston B-60sst integrated before this (great amp), and I prefer the Sansui. Modern DOES NOT mean better... I woul...
Bryston VS Cambridge Audio
If you want to stay around the same price of the CA 840, maybe take a look at the Naim 5 or Prima Luna (tubes)? They would be my first 2 choices around the $1,500 new price range...
Bryston VS Cambridge Audio
I was into seperates for awhile, mixing and matching amps and pre-amps. The B-60 gave me more of what I wanted as far as what I consider "balanced sound". Same goes for the Scott 222c amp I used to own. Just like you I stressed about "cleaning thi...

Emotiva XDA-1 or HRT Streamer II+
For a cheap dac I would recommend the XDA-1 if you prefer neutral sound and a remote and the Maverick Audio/Grant Fidelity tube dac if you want some "flavor". I currently use the Emotiva with a Sansui 919 and Paradigm speakers and LOVE the sound. ...

Sansui AU - 919 Thrift Store Find
Yes it was a great piece 30 years ago, and still is today! I like the sound of my 919 better than the Bryston B-60SST I used to own. ($2,800) I think you would have to spend at least $4,000 to get an equivalent SS integrated...

There is Sansui tech here in Madison, WI. He has worked on many units since "back in the day" and has every original service manual and bulletins. Pretty sure he only deals locally though... Judging by your name "Lambeau" I'm guessing you are a fe...
Tube sites/books, recommendations please
I would also agree with the Brent Jessie recommendation. He is very helpful and honest!
